    1. No. This article is strange. It sold 2.74 million during the 2016-2017 fiscal year, which means it sold 2.74 mil in its first month (March). We’ve known this since April though. Nothing new.

        1. Yeah I think it’s probably just the way they worded it. When I hear “most recent fiscal year”, I think this year. But I’m pretty sure they meant last year.

      1. i lost it. i though switch really sold 2.7m on the first month. i am a brainwashed nintendrone too now? cause i had some high hopes that it was going to be around 4m right now…….NO i dont get it. this “fiscal year,” is annoying me and confusing me. and this “2016” thing? what is this. Switch didn’t exist then so it cant even report that way.

        1. Lol sorry. Didn’t mean to confuse you. Basically, the Switch sold 2.74 million in its first month (March). It looks like Nintendo hasn’t said how much it has sold since then. We’ll probably find out total sales on July 26th. That’s when Nintendo will release its quarterly earnings. It’s probably ovwr 4 million right now.

  2. Fiscal year 2016 started in 2016 and ended in 2017, that’s how “fiscal years” work. The Switch came out the last month of the fiscal year 2016 so yes it did exist in fiscal year 2016 and because it was the last month the fiscal year’s worth of sales just so happens to be the first month of sales too. Seriously people, let’s keep it together…

  3. If the pattern continues then the switch will succeed in the end. Which means their next console may not do so well.

2.74m in March. That’s cool but I’d have liked over 3m instead. But they did limit the stock for March so under 3m sounds about right.
