Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is one of the most anticipated games coming this year. However, a Nintendo Switch version has not been announced. GamingBolt has taken the time to ask the game’s developer why it isn’t coming to the Nintendo console. While he doesn’t seem entirely sure, he postulates about the Switch’s processing power before wondering about Warner Bros’ interest in the system. Would you like to see Shadow of War come to Switch? “I’m really not sure. I know that our tech team got it up and running on the Xbox One X dev kit within a day. I think that’s a big deal for us: how much work do we have to devote to supporting another console versus making the game better?
I really don’t know to what degree if they got those kits, and decided it would be too much. Or they never got them because Warner Bros. didn’t want us to invest our time there. I have no idea. It could have been at a higher level at Monolith. It could have been down to the tech. Anything is possible.”

you know I very seriously considered quitting gaming when I decided I could no longer game exclusively with Nintendo.
the truth is the kind of games I like tell stories kind of like a choose-your-own-adventure novel. I didn’t want to give that up so I decided to just get an Xbox One and be done with Nintendo for now.
pay to play online sucks but I can honestly say for the $60 I have spent this year for my one-year subscription, I have got hundreds of dollars worth of games that were extremely fun and I that I never got to play because Nintendo consoles are always too weak or have too low of an installed base.
$60 a year may still be a lot to some people but even if you only download the free games and maybe buy a 5 or $7 game now and then, you’ll have plenty of games to keep you busy all year long and maybe longer. at least that’s the way it is with me.
being a frustrated gamer is a tough spot to be in, if you give up brand loyalty and take a good look at the games that are on sale on the various consoles, you may find pay to play online ends up paying for itself.

I use to be the type to buy any game coming to my Nintendo console if it was a game I liked whether it was Nintendo, Capcom, Ubisoft, whatever. Sadly, waiting for those games I really wanted to be on Wii & Wii U only for them to skip it, I spent more time online on sites like this, Gaia, Facebook, Youtube, etc than I did gaming. I gave up on Nintendo in the non-exclusive department which is why I got my PS4 & will get the next PlayStation when it comes. If Switch by some chance (Heh… I’ll believe it when I see it…) starts getting plenty of non-exclusive games, it’s sadly too little too late for this Nintendo fan…

yeah I know there was a Xenoblade on the Wii there was also Skyward Sword on the Wii. too little too late great games at the end of a life cycle stuck in standard definition doesn’t help anyone. Xenoblade and Skyward Sword both got the short end of the stick being stuck on the Wii and not getting at least low high definition resolutions.
also we games looked horrible on television sets because they were standard definition. the Wii was good for the first three or four years and that’s being generous. after that it was only being sold to nursing homes and family families with kids wanting to play Wii Sports and let’s dance. any great games released after that we’re Wasted. they were good games but nobody wants to play a games full of jaggies. standard definition kill the Wii just as much as its weak Hardware

The Last Story & Pandora’s Tower need to be put on something with HD, is more powerful than Wii, & isn’t released during the worst year of a console’s life. Maybe they’d have done better & would actually be getting sequels right now instead of one & dones. :/ The Last Story felt like there was so much more we didn’t know about; same for Pandora’s Tower. Sadly, since the Wii failed them, 1 game for both is probably as far as it’ll go. *cries*
YES. I actually bought those games just to support their being published on a Nintendo console, but I never got around to playing them. they didn’t look quite as bad as Skyward Sword but they could definitely use a facelift.
I fucking love these two games, along with Xenoblade Chronicles, so it’s sad I won’t see sequels for the other two & hopefully see more of the world these games exist in. :/ The Last Story not doing well didn’t do Mistwalker any favors whatsoever as they’ve been doing mostly phone games ever since. Actually, I asked the Metro Exodus Devs, they said they don’t have plans as of yet but are looking into it, so I wouldn’t rule it out. Plus, Wii got some big Triple A Games yet it was weaker than the other systems by a mile.

If you have a PS4 & love Middle-Earth, the first game (Shadow of Mordor) is dirt fucking cheap on the PS Store because of the deals they got going til the.. 11th, I think. $5.99 with the regular deal plus an extra 10% off if you have PlayStation Plus so $3.99. Have you ever heard about Rainway app?
I’ve heard about it but I’m not using it. The Switch already has limited data as it is. I don’t need this app for 3rd party multi-plat games on PC when my PS4 is good enough. Gotta conserve as much data for my Switch as possible so I don’t have to pay hundreds & hundreds of bucks for dozens of Micro SD Cards.
But this app use streaming not data.
And that is a problem in & of itself since AT&T sucks monkey balls right now.
But I saw a video of Overwatch played using this app on the Switch and it wasn’t so bad.
Maybe you should try it when it come out.

This is rather annoying since the Xbox One is the worst console I’ve ever owned, and the PS4 is just as ridiculous. I was hoping to play at least some of the newest games in some form factor on my Switch since I’ve moved over to portable gaming entirely–especially since pretty much all of the major 3rd party titles CAN run on the system.
A shame you didn’t enjoy your PS4. I, on the other hand, am having more of a blast on it than I ever did with my Wii & Wii U combined. Sadly… :/
