Chrissy Teigen recently took to Twitter to ask the “Nintendo Switch people” among her millions of followers for advice regarding Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The American model wanted to know how to get three-star ranks after completing four courses as part of various Grand Prix Cups in the racing game, including the Mushroom Cup, Flower Cup and Special Cup. Her followers were quick to respond and gave some pertinent pointers. If you have any useful tips for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, you can let Teigen know via Twitter.

Try to drift as close to the rim you can, unless if you’re doing 200cc, in which case just don’t drive off the track and plan to turn sooner than you think you should.
I would have suggested not buying the rip off if she had bought the Wii U version & it’s DLC digitallly, but since she’s a celebrity, she can probably afford to get ripped off.
The wii u was a ripoff, switch version includes dlc free and is more convenient for people

This isn’t about a mutliplat 3rd party game on two competing consoles. This is about an upgraded port from one Nintendo console to another. Your comparison is meaningless. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at 60 bucks would be a rip off for me. End of story!

But you don’t have proper battle courses on Wii U, or the Boo and jump flower item, or the 5 new characters in Deluxe.
Never really cared for battle mode as I was always more for the racing. As for the rest, it’s 10-20 bucks DLC at best so Mario Kart 8 should have been 40 bucks: 20 to upgrade to Switch & 20 for the extra DLC stuff. Instead, it’s 30 for the upgrade & 30 for the DLC. No thanks but I’m passing on it. Well & then there is the bullshit with Nintendo’s online tied to a smartphone but I won’t get into that here.
That’s really weird.. if she got first place in all 4 races, then that’s all that’s required. They fixed that insane requirement from Mario Kart Wii, where you couldn’t even fall off the track to get triple stars, or whatever ludicrous other requirements it had, because in that game, I DEFINITELY got first in all races, and would get one or two stars.
But yeah, it should only require first place, and that’s all. Hmmm. Weird.
Oh, and for the hater who claims the Switch version is a ripoff, probably never bought the Wii U version to begin with, and clearly doesn’t understand what makes the Switch version better, even if you owned the DLC like I did on Wii U. The battle mode alone makes it worth it, on top of the extra stuff, frame rate fix AND being fully portable. Worth every penny.

Ur getting baited m8. Everyone knows you have the mk8 + dlc. You’re entitled to have your opinion just like everyone else can. I can respect that anyway. But just because you don’t care for the battle mode, doesn’t mean other people don’t, and those who do probably wouldn’t mind paying the extra money for the upgrade.

correction, you have a license that enables you to play the game on the Wii u. Keep playing on the Wii u. Done. If you decide you want to play it on the switch, pay up then for a new license for a different device. No need to be bitter over silly b.s. You have the game, it works, you can still play it. I ve paid for Minecraft like 8 times because i like having it on all of my various devices, ios, android, pc, Wii u etc that’s just the nature of the beast.
After playing MK8D for a while and then going back to MK8 Wii U I really noticed a different. The racing just feels so much more smoother and tighter. Also, having two item slots just makes everything much more frantic, going back to 1 slot makes the racing seem pretty dull lol
Maybe wait for a sale or something because you’re really missing out on the best version of MK to date. I’m not really a big fan of battle mode either btw, i’ll admit the splatoon level is pretty awesome though
Being able to have 2 items at a time has been a staple in every Mario Kart game before 8 (hold one behind you while keeping the second in a box,) so that’s not really a good reason either to rebuy as it should have been in the original Mario Kart 8 game. When it’s on sale for 20-30 bucks, I might consider buying it then. But for now, I’ll wait when I don’t feel like I’m gonna get ripped off paying another 60 bucks for a game I’ve already paid 80 for.
You can imagine how I’m going to feel when I buy Smash Deluxe for Switch after buying it for Wii U and 3DS with ALL DLC lol
If Smash Deluxe for Switch has everything the Wii U & 3DS versions have along with a lot of new stuff (more characters, more stages, & more modes,) I honestly wouldn’t mind paying 50-60 bucks for that. I stopped buying DLC for Smash 4 on 3DS after the second or third pack. If anything stops me from buying it, though, it will be Nintendo’s crappy online.
Also, the HD rumble is a very nice touch that really adds to the MK experience
