Knock-Off NES Mini Systems Are Appearing Online

While Nintendo has ended their production, fans are still desperate to get their hands on the NES Mini. It seems that scammers have begun to recognise this continuing demand as knock-off NES Mini systems have been appearing online. The console recently reappeared on the Chinese retailer AliExpress. However, NeoGAF users have spotted the obvious forgery by scrutinising screenshots. Check out the comparison screenshots below.

  1. You have the real and fake pictures the wrong way around compared to the source – it’s actually fake on the left, real on the right.

    Although the ‘fake box’ literally does just look like a promo image of the official European box anyway, I’m sure the sellers just took the picture from an official listing and any resemblance to the box of the item they actually ship is probably purely coincidental.

  2. Ridley X3 {Jaded Ninty fan. Greatness Awaits at Sony PlayStation 4. Awaiting Greatness on Nintendo Switch; just need cloud storage, add external HDD support, & to eliminate the need for that stupid Nintendo Switch Online App on smartphones.}

    Nintendo created this problem by not continuing to make more when there were still people wanting said product. Of course, it doesn’t take anything away from these losers preying on people with fake systems, though, so these guys are still assholes even if Nintendo are assholes, too.

    1. My thoughs exactly. This is Nintendo’s own fault. When people really want something — sell it to then. Don’t tease people with it. This is just a resut of their “scarcity” marketing.

  3. Real or Fake : Some North America “NES Mini Systems”, front side have official nintendo seal on the left, and “E10+ ESRB, in a black/white Rectangle” on the lower right. Then did it a real one?
