Kotaku quite often compiles a list that they call ‘The Bests’ which outlines, in their opinion, the best software for each console. They did this for the Nintendo Switch recently. But today they unveiled what their 12 best games are for the 2DS and 3DS. Below, find their 12 favourite games for the 3DS and 2DS. All of these games will play on the original 3DS, the 2DS, and the New 3DS.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is byfar my favorite 3rd party 3DS game. My favorite first party game is Mario Kart 7 due to the amazing replay value!
Strange list. Where is 3D Land?
I mean,,, it’s my opinion, I don’t HAVE to put 3D Land on there
12 is a strange amount for a list. I’d add 3D Land, Bravely Default and Kid Icarus Uprising.
The 3DS family has a pretty awesome game lineup. They probably couldn’t agree on just 10, so they went for 12. ;)
My favorites are Mario 3D Land, OoT 3D , A Link Between Worlds, Bravely Default & Second, Animal Crossing New Leaf, Luigi’s Mansion 2, Fantasy Life, Kirby Planet Robobot, Mario Kart 7, Dual Destinies … oh look, it’s already 11 and I haven’t even started on Pokemon. I can go on with Persona Q, Yokai Watch, Legend of Legacy (Yes, I love JRGS, who would’ve guessed?) and more.
And let’s not forget, this september Metroid Samus Returns will be on 3DS and probably be on everyone’s top-something list as well, so you might as well just leave a spot open for it.
Yeah, they should’ve made it top 20 or something considering how long the life of the 3DS has been. But oh well. Great handheld.
