We already know that Axiom Verge is releasing on both the Switch and the Wii U but according to Tom Happ, a developer for the title, US retailers don’t want to stock the game. In the tweet I’ve included below, he mentions that Wii U owners will be able to get their hands on Axiom Verge a different way. We will have to wait and see but I have reached out to Happ for comment.
So the Wii U version is coming through a different pathway since US retailers don't want to stock it… hopefully announced soon

Why this?
Meh. Doesn’t look all too interesting either way.
Not surprised. Wii U is a dead system.
The tweet says that the Wii U version is coming, when it was already released in 2016 on the eShop. Are they talking about a physical version?
Yeah, US retailers don’t usually stock digital games
I see shovel knight shantae cave story and isaac around all the time though
Binding of Isaac came out at most retailers here in the US, even grocery stores.
Because it’s a Wii U game. Nobody wants to get anything Wii U anymore. Every retailer I’ve been are trying to get rid of Wii and Wii U games and accessories. They’re all in clearance and nobody is buying them. Retailers need to make more room for the Switch and 3DS since they’re printing money.
Also, really bad move on them making a Wii U game.
every time I go to walmart they still have that one bratz game for wii u that no one wants to buy, so i can understand this
