  1. P2. Have to admit, I expected better Switch hardware sales. Production restraints are a killer. The situation has to improve a good deal if Nintendo still expects to sell 10 million units this year.

It’s hard to complain though when they’re doing so well. Operating profit overshot estimates by about 40%, and was about ¥21 billion greater than the same period last year.

    1. You expected better switch hardware sells. You was wrong
You expected worse Splatoon sells, You was wrong
You though i am a troll. You was wrong (more or less :P)

You should punish yourself somehow for the sake of justice (or just give me your Switch ID for splatoon turf matches :P)

      1. LOL. The Splatoon prediction was a fluke. I simply didn’t look into the matter enough to make a proper call. I admit I shouldn’t have ever made that call with the limited information I had.

As for my Switch hardware prediction, it was actually on point. Like a month and a half ago, I think I called 4.5 – 5 million total sales by the end of June. Can’t remember the article I said it in. I was being a bit conservative though. I was actually hoping for at least 5 mil. I just didn’t expect production to be such an issue.

As for my Switch id, I’ll send it over when I get home later. Don’t know it off the top of my head.

          1. You’re pretty good with that blaster. I hate those things lol. I’ve got a bit to go before I can get some good gear. I only just started playing yesterday, and am still using the basic weapons and armor.

I was having some connection problems too, but I thought it was just my wifi.

            1. i never got dc on splatoon during the match.
Many times i get dc when the game is trying to join on a team.

i know you got it yesterday i saw it on your profile.
I notice your internet problems too cause i saw you offline after the game and you get no points.

I play 400 hours on splatoon 1 and yet i used blaster for first time ever just yesterday.
My main weapon is Gal 96

              1. Yeah I was playing on handheld using wifi. My router is in the basement and the signal doesn’t reach the entire house. In fact the Switch can barely get a signal in the room I have the dock set up in. I’m waiting for my ethernet adapter to come in. Should be here in a few days, so things should be better after that.

My main is the aerospray. The speed suits me. I’ve been experimenting with different weapons though, trying to find the best ones for each map.

                                        1. Nintendo expected Switch to sell 10 million units by the end of the first fiscal year, not calendar year. Basically, the end of the first Switch fiscal year will be March 31st, so the same month it launched. It came at the end of the first quarter, so it’s VERY possible for Switch to do so. 4.7 million total sales is marked at June 30th. Splatoon 2 just came out, you can guarantee Switch sales by the end of July will be plenty past 5 million. Possibly at 5.5 million. That’s 5 months of sales totalling over 5 million, with 5 more months left in 2017, Christmas 2017 and then 3 months in 2018 to sell 4.5-5 million units.

As long as supply is there, it WILL hit 10 million in its first fiscal year, like they want. Heck, if Nintendo manages to put 14 million Switch units on the shelf by March 3, 2018, it WILL outsell the Wii U within its first year. Christmas, Mario Odyssey, Fire Emblem Warriors, Rocket League, Sonic Forces, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and more, would make this happen, if the units are there to purchase.

                                          1. No. Nintendo said they expected to sell 10 million units for the 2017 fiscal year. The Switch’s first fiscal year ended March 31st, 2017. That means that by March 31st, 2018, they expect total sales to be at least 12.74 million (2.74 last fiscal year + 10 this fiscal year)

They sold 1.97 million in the first quarter. They’re a quarter of the way through the year and they’ve only sold a fifth of what they’re projecting.

I think it’s still possible for them to hit their goal, but like I said, the production situation has to improve.

                                      1. I’m glad that so many people out there are finding something fun to play on the Switch. My Switch has been collecting dust ever since I defeated Calamity Ganon in Breath Of The Wild. Then again, ALL of my consoles are collecting dust lately. I’m always too engrossed with editing home videos on my computer to even have time to play anything. But my time will come again. Probably not until October though, unless I decide to go back and play the BOTW DLC I downloaded.

But I’m going to have a hard time choosing which game to play first in October. Super Mario Odyssey, or Assassin’s Creed Origins on my PS4? Hmm…..

                                          1. I’m not looking for anything. I’m just posting my opinions and thoughts because that’s what a comment section is for. Also because I don’t have a single person to talk to (in my family) about video games. I live in a family of deadbeets.

                                            1. Ah ok. I don’t have many people to talk to about games either. All my friends live far away and nobody takes Nintendo fans seriously anyway, which is some bullshit. Either way personally I love my Switch. My biggest complaints are minor gripes.

                                          1. Nintendo First Order Commander Quadraxis

                                            ||It never will be until we dominate once again, but my main objective will be complete once the Xbots are history and then oblivion…||

                                      2. 2M for Q1 is okay, but the demand is so much higher. If they don’t do better in Q2 and Q3, they won’t reach their goal of 10M in 2017.

                                      3. Ridley X3 {R.I.P. Chester Bennington of Linkin' Park. Thank you for the awesome music. You will be missed. *cries*}

They’d be making even more money if they stocked amiibo better. Also if they kept selling NES Mini/Classics, too, since it seems there is still demand for it.
