The Pokémon GO Fest didn’t go at all well for Niantic or the attendees that gathered for the promising event. You’ve probably already read what went wrong at the event and it was nothing short of a disaster. Because of this, some attendees are suing Niantic. Thomas Zimmerman who is a Chicago-based attorney has said that he has 30-50 dissatisfied people on his books who are looking to sue to the company. He’s basically looking to reclaim the expenses for those who traveled from outside Chicago.
This is so dumb imo.
When I first say the headline, I thought they were planning to REALLY sue the company hard. And I thought fuck those people, but then I read that they’re mostly wanting getting money back for expenses and travel. I can understand that a lot more. I don’t know, part says this is dumb the other part says I get it, but the whole of me says sucks to suck.
Didn’t the company send out refunds to the attendees? Plus rewards in game? I find it ridicules they went out of state just to play pokemon go.
Seriously guys. That was on you
People who flew in from outside of Chicago have WAAAY more expenses than that, though.
Refunds for event entry probably, not refund for their plane ticket or gas money.
Hey refunded the event. Why is it the companies fault the 50 ppl willingly spent their own money to go to the event, again that was their decision it’s not the likeminded companies fault.
Those 30-50 people need to let it go.
This is exactly how a good pun should be made – without the annoying “pun intended” bullshit
I totally made a pun and didn’t realize it lol
Good lord…..and I thought Pokemon Star and the Gen 4 remake fanbase were bad….
i like how you label people who believe in these theories like religion a fanbase lol
we are getting gen 4 remakes tho
No one said we weren’t, but these are the same people that were utter babies about USUM.
Highly unlikely they get anything. Basic damages rarely go that far, and that the promoter already gave a basic refund will reflect well on them in court.
Wasn’t Niantic already offering to cover the travel costs for the people who came all the way here to Chicago?? In addition to in-game rewards and $100 worth of merch?
*sigh* You just can’t please some people. Seriously, I don’t think this is lawsuit-worthy. I’m done with this planet.
Not lawsuit worthy? This is America. Every minor infraction is lawsuit worthy these days. Lawyers gonna lawyer haha.
That’s an outright lie. You’ll be hearing from my lawyer for emotional distress.
I plead the fifth!
||What are these Law-yer creatures?…||
Some of them are good. But some are blood sucking scumbags that are obsessed with money.
The ones that don’t charge you if you lose a court case are definitely the good ones.
Hell yeah. And the pro bono ones. Thank goodness I have not needed the services of a good or bad one up to this point in my life.
Careful. He might sue you over making him feel dumb.
I might have to flee the country! I can’t afford to be sued!
Good.
No, it’s not. It’s pathetic.
||Where is that decimation order…||
People travel from all over the world to attend E3. I don’t see anybody dissing their decisions to do so. Should be no different with this. Niantic failed to hold up their end of the deal and admitted to it. People who traveled far for this just got ripped off and should be compensated on a rewind until before they started taking monetary action to make the trip. It’s only fair, not pathetic. In Muricah economy losing this much money on a trip for a failed event is a big deal.
Stupid ‘fans’, the lawyer will eat up all the funds and they’ll end up with pennies.
Time to invest in some penny stocks!
Honestly, this is better than being at the event & chunking bottles, so I’ll assume some of the people thinking of suing weren’t part of the group of losers throwing said bottles. Least no one could die from a lawsuit.
