Monster Hunter Stories Demo Announced Alongside New Trailer

Nintendo has confirmed that Monster Hunter Stories for the Nintendo 3DS will be receiving a demo and has also treated us to a brand new trailer. In addition, they confirmed the September 8, 2017 release date for North America, which Nintendo UK announced for Europe last month.

As for the Demo, it will be available to download on August 10, and features the ability to transfer your save data from the demo to the full version if you decide to purchase it once available.

Monster Hunter Stories is a spin-off of the wildly popular Monster Hunter series and features, for the first time in the franchise, turn-based, rock-paper-scissors combat. Monster Hunter Stories also allows you to hatch, befriend and fight alongside monsters that will help you in all aspects of the game.

To learn more about this title, Nintendo has just released a new trailer that dives deeper into the game and shows off some of the adventures you will be going on and a few of the monsters that will soon become trusty allies and friends.

Are you looking forward to jumping into this demo? How about the full game? Let us know below!

  1. Welcome to My Nintendo News, Adam. And about Monster Hunter Stories…? If I had a New Nintendo 3DS XL, I would play that demo and then buy it at launch.

    1. Yes! According to Monster Hunter Stories official website – “Tap compatible amiibo™ accessories for bonus items such as Ancient Potions, Dust of Life, and other high-grade materials helpful to your quest” And Amiibo are not region locked, so they will work with any version!

  2. I have been waiting for so long!! I hear that the game stutters in 3D though, so I think I am going to pick up the N2DS XL to play this on.

    1. It doesn’t stutter on the New 3DS ($99) & New 3DS XL ($199). And the 3D effect in this year’s games is awesome. 3D in movies & video games in 2K17 is kick ass.

    1. Bull… I’ve read the same crap from you over and over and over and over and over and over. Just shut the hell up already! You don’t know jack sprat about this game. Furthermore, CAPCOM isn’t developing this Monster Hunter spin-off so your comment is 100% invalid.

  3. So Capcom is finally getting this game to the west.. Hate to say it guys, but your about two years too late. Your sales will be a small fraction of what they could’ve been during all the hype..

    1. Actually, NIntendo of America is publishing Monster Hunter Stories for CAPCOM since the (once Japan only) title is coming to North America. Late or not it’s about that damn time this game will be presented in English (subtitles, that is).

      1. I was hyped for this game when it was first announced. But like every Japanese game that takes years to get to the west I end up losing that hype. I’ll watch an LP of the game, or accidently stumble across spoilers and it just ruins the game for me.. Sometimes it’s my own fault but damn when a game you like and want to play just doesn’t release in your country it’s hard to resist videos and discussions about it. Capcom is the absolute worst about this.. Square is pretty bad too, but Capcom is king about ruining their Japanese titles in the west.

  4. Man, I’m so hyped for this. It looks absolutely gorgeous. Never even heard about it until recently, so I’m glad it’s coming out in September.
