Check Out This Gorgeous Gear.Club Unlimited Teaser Trailer For Switch

What could be seen as the Nintendo Switch’s first ‘realistic’ racing game, Gear.Club Unlimited is gearing up to launch in Q4 of this year. Publisher Microïds outlined six games for Switch earlier this year and we now have more information from them regarding Gear.Club Unlimited, along with a flashy teaser trailer which I’ve included below.

Gear.Club Unlimited offers players a driving experience behind the wheel of prestigious cars from leading brands. They will have to demonstrate a strong competitive spirit during frantic races to win championships and set the fastest lap times, alone or against their friends! In order to make their cars ever more powerful and aggressive, players can customize them – from body to engine!

While it is a cinematic trailer, it’s possible they used the actual in-game engine for it. Some in-game engines can actually be mistaken for CGI cinematic trailers.

      1. Plus, a racing sim isn’t graphically demanding because most if not all are linear. Which is why motorsport, GT, Driveclub, and Project Cars are able to output the graphics that they do.

Now dont get me wrong, im not saying these games dont tax consoles, im just saying that since these games only render a track and a few cars at a time, they dont demand what (insert open world game here) demands. Which is why they are more detailed than your other games.

I’d assume the open world racing games like some of the Need for Speed games would be an exception.

      2. While it is possible that they used the in-game engine and recorded realtime graphics, it is more likely that they used in-game assets and rendered the video in Unreal Engine or somewhere else. There is no way that they already have a stable framerate to record but no actual in-game footage.

I should clarify that this is usually the case of in-game engines for racing game trailers because of the fact that cars have a sheen to them because of the metal and/or extremely powerful plastic or matte materials. Same thing occurs with things that are wet & covered with water also because of the sheen it leaves behind. Even racing games where the graphics aren’t that great can look pretty damn good thanks to the sheen of the vehicles.

  1. Oh look!! This is something that is really coming to a Nintendo platform, unlike that Project Cars that was promised to the Wii U owners for backing them up…
