It has been an encouraging month for the developer behind AM2R as although his project was hit by a takedown by Nintendo he has now been offered a job with Moon Studios. If you are not familiar with Moon Studios they are the development team behind the well-received 2D Xbox and PC platformer Ori and the Blind Forest. So not a bad outcome for the developer behind the game as the team obviously saw his talent.
It's a special day for another reason. I'm now part of Moon Studios, I'll be working on level design for Ori and the Will of the Wisps.

Ahh that’s so awesome to hear he’s got a job at Moon Studios!
I haven’t played Ori and the Blind Forest but I heard
so many great things about the game (and again at the reaction
towards the sequel’s announcement) so I know he won’t be disappointed
working there!
I wonder what game/games he’ll create from here on. ^-^
Must play it if you are a Metroid fan or like platformers. It’s an amazing game and one of my favourites.
Kinda nice to see indie developers being noticed by there fanfare projects like AM2R and the Sonic Homebrews; which improved the original games and now are being noticed by SEGA with SONIC MANIA (btw it looks AWSOME).
Kudos to them
If I recall correctly, Moon Studios had a run-in with Nintendo concerning Switch development hardware.
So I assume that we won’t see any Nintendo related products coming from that direction for a good while…

Happy for him, good luck on your career brother, thanks for the awesome game you left behind.
You really missed out here Nintendo. You shouldve put him on the Prime 4 team.
Have Ninty ever hired a guy like him? Sega have at least.
has*
I don’t think so but it would’ve been a good start.
Quite indeed. They’re quite protective and old fashioned in many ways. IPs is what they have left to maintain hardware sales, so I get that. But it wouldn’t hurt them to embrace talented individuals like him. If he still wasn’t the best employee, for whatever reason, they would have gained PR. But Ninty doesn’t care about what others think of them. They think they’re unbeatable. Wii U is one example of their ignorance. I love the U though.
They’re fully in their right to protect their IP but I also think they could’ve hired him.
Haha, yeah. Feelin’ we’re stating a lot of obvios things here now :P
Why? He has 0 experience in anything other than a 2d action platformer.
He knows how to make a good Metroid game unlike Yoshio Sakamoto.
We get our Metroid 2 remake, and he gets a job developing games professionally… sounds like things worked out well for everyone.
Especially if you got your hands on AM2R before it was taken down
Good for him.
Finally, some good news about a fan game developer.
Wonderful development. Now only if he could swing it anywhere near a Nintendo console … I would love Ori on Nintendo hardware. Blind Forest was more then excellent and for me GOTY when it first released. Looking forward to Will of the Wisps … as I mentioned I would prefer it on the Nintendo Switch but … well probably when hell freezes over.
Missed opportunity here, NintenD’OH! Maybe he wasn’t Japanese enough for their tastes.
Or maybe Ninty just likes to hold a grudge against people that spent nearly a decade trying to give us a great game in a franchise they shit over in the last installment with FedshitForce. They still have a long way to go to make up for that travesty. Samus Returns, Metroid Prime 4, & better stock of the Metroid amiibo 2-pack would be a great start. Sadly, only 2 of these are happening.
this is awesome. i hope he does great
