The results are now in for the Mayo Vs. Ketchup Splatoon 2 Splatfest that’s just wrapped up in the U.S. and Mayo has once again taken the crown. You can check out the results below thanks to the screenshot grabbed by @PacmanAndRobin on Twitter. Japan also saw a Mayo victory when the exciting event finished in the territory earlier yesterday.
Now we’re just waiting for the European Splatfest results! Europe has until 3pm BST to ink for their chosen team.
I imagine Europe will be a bit more 50/50 in terms of votes! pic.twitter.com/xJQCJsX1h4

I want to know if you playing the same people on your team does it count towards the score. Because there was so little of mayo players I had to play other Ketchup players most of the time.
lol I had that problem to and I was team mayo pearl for the win though
Yup. I had this same issue. I’m pretty sure it doesnt count, other wise we would have won. It was annoying knowing that my skill was not being accounted for.
:(
Same-Team matches do not count. Think of them as exhibition matches. Only matches where Mayo and Ketchup were both present count.
||I’m only claiming victory after victory at this very moment, this is not over yet…||
You have FAILED, Tomato Jelly fan! Return to the shadow! :p
||I don’t care about disgusting primitive energy consumption, only reason why I chose Ketchup is because it has the colour of Nintendo…||
Ketchup won popularity, and Mayo won skill.
“Skill”…. Server issues isn’t Skill, sorry Squido
Yeah darn those servers only causing issues for Team Ketchup. Of course I was Mayo and didn’t experience a single issue in game (connection issues going back into lobby sure, but not anything in game), so maybe you’re on to something. Nintendo stacked the deck!
Don’t be salty lol
Eh, I didn’t at all try in this one… didn’t care about it
Man it’s so frustrating when you are on the losing Splatfest team that just barely lost…
If it makes you feel any better, it’s pretty close but Ketchup seems to be winning in Europe.
yeah im from europe and it’s really close right now the matches go like win-lose-win-lose
I’ll never understand these types of posts.
What do you not understand about it?
Only goes to show that you’re an inferior human being if you’d rather dunk your chips in ketchup than mayonnaise.
So, what this tells me is that if a mere 27% of participants were able to achieve an average 51.5% of the score vs an average 48.5% from the remaining 73%…………
……………
……………………
………….all the best players picked Mayo!!! ;-)
Haha! I knew with our egg and oil slickness, we’d cream those tomato sugar suckers!!! Team Mayo, baby! Yeah!! :-D
In all seriousness, though, it was a WONDERFUL time playing a wonderful variant on a wonderful game with wonderful people!
And in truth, I very nearly missed it! I had been so wrapped up in Miitopia that I had forgotten all about it til I saw a post on Google+ while attending to some podcast stuff. I only got in on it for the final three hours more or less.
Anyway, go team Mayo! And even if I have to go out of my way to do so, I will find some kind of morsel that will accommodate a little Mayo that I can have today to celebrate! :-)
Cheers!
It doesn’t work like that. When they calculate the win rate, they normalize both sides so that the popularity doesn’t count. So no, the 51.5% were not gained only by those 27% participants (it is almost impossible), it was just a win rate among all the mayo voters. The way it works, even if the popularity was 5% to 95%, the smaller group could still have a better win rate, because the popularity is normalized in win score.
Actually, I figured that it was adjusted – hence the winking icon next to the statement followed by the line “In all seriousness, though”. It was, as they say in the business, a joke! :-)
Either way, it was a fun time, and I’m glad that “the good guys” won! :-)
Well, dang. I chose team Ketchup in Europe. I guess I know how this will end now!
So I don’t eat either, but I bet you Ketchup dominated in the younger demographic and adults tended more towards mayo. That would explain the win rate vs popularity.
Popularity isn’t everything.
Fat fucking Americans
Hey! I resemble that remark! :p
