The Senran Kagura Series Worldwide Sales Top 1.65 Million

Senran Kagura series producer Kenichiro Takaki has revealed to fans on Twitter that the series worldwide sales have topped 1.65 million. The series first launched on the Nintendo 3DS in 2011 and has proved to be a popular franchise. It has also appeared on  PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, PC, and smartphones. Here’s what Takaki had to say:

“I forgot to mention it at the event the other day,” Takaki said, referring the the Senran Kagura New Title Presentation on August 1 that saw severalSenranKagurarelatedannouncements, “but the Senran Kagura series, which at the beginning they said would be amazing if it even sold 30,000 units, has sold over 1,650,000 copies worldwide in five years. Sales aren’t everything, but I’ll be happy if it sells more… It would be nice to get some pocket money, wouldn’t it?”

Of course awesomeaussie27 would send in this tidbit because she’s an awesome aussie! It says so in her name! :D

Anyway, way to go Senran Kagura. Not the best sales but you are still an ongoing franchise so that’s something.

  2. Congrats Takaki, quite the accomplishment for the most niche of niche.

Definitely looking forward to the Burst remake and 7EVEN. Though I don’t mind the Switch spinoffs either, it’s been a while since I last played a good pinball game.

Is that the most recent entry in the franchise to be on PS4? Or is it the only PS4 game from the franchise?

      2. For some dumb reason, no one else can reply to you Ridley.

But Estival Versus isn’t the only PS4 Senran game. Peach Beach Splash already came out earlier this year in Japan (which many imported). Xseed is just taking their sweet time to bring in to the West by September, which is way too late in the summer.

You’ve been gone awhile. Sickr had to limit the number of replies on the comment section for a reason I can’t remember. You can still comment to comments like mine, though, through either WordPress’s main page when you click on article title there & it takes you to WordPress’s main page or through email notifications.

          Anyway, thanks for the info!

You don’t get it because all you see is the boobs on the front of the cases & just write the franchise off as pure fan-service with no other redeeming qualities. From what I’ve seen, the gameplay in the franchise is very similar to the Warrior franchise from Koei Tecmo. As for the story, I hear the story is pretty good & the only complaint I’ve actually read so far is that one of the latest games had TOO MUCH story. Unless you can’t get one of the games because you’re underage & your parents won’t buy such games for you as you aren’t 17 yet, I suggest actually trying one of the games out as a rental at least. Who knows. Maybe you might just get into the franchise yourself.

  3. Nice.

Assuming more girls will be added to Shinobi Refle through updates, Yomi better be an option in the future.
