Digital Foundry Have Produced A Mario Kart 25th Anniversary Special Video

Digital Foundry, the video gaming technology enthusiasts, have published a brilliant Mario Kart 25th Anniversary special video. The video showcases the visual and technological evolutions the franchise has gone through over the years right up to the recently released Nintendo Switch version of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

25 years on from Super Mario Kart’s 1992 release, we take a look at Nintendo’s series through the generations. From its humble mode 7 beginnings on Super Nintendo, to its first forays in polygonal 3D on N64, right up to a native 1920×1080 push in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Switch – the series has always challenged the hardware at hand.

    1. Personally Mario Kart DS holds a soft spot in my heart. Going online for the first time against people from allover the world has a clear highlight, even if it was laggy and time consuming to find a decent 4 player match. But, what really sold me was how extensive the single player campaign was. Nintendo needs to include a beefy single player campaign other than Gran Prix in order to WIN me and countless others in there next Mario Kart game.
