Super Mario Odyssey Will Have A Move Called The “Hip Drop Jump”

Mario’s arsenal of moves and abilities in Super Mario Odyssey continues to grow with the announcement of another move that will be in the game. Nintendo’s Japanese Super Mario Odyssey Twitter has posted a tweet and .gif showing off a move called the “Hip Drop Jump”. The move lets you jump in the air after performing a Ground Pound. The move allows you to use the momentum you gained from the Ground Pound to get an extra bit of jump height, something that a standard jump cannot obtain. As for the tweet that confirmed the move, we’ve included it down below.

  1. Kinda like the back-flip from Mario 64 (Crouching then pressing jump). That was used as a high jump then. I’m guessing the back-flip isn’t in Odyssey, so this is the replacement… I’m okay with this.

  2. King Kalas X3 {I only buy exclusives that interest me on Switch. For everything else that interests me, there is PS4.}

    Why? It’s obviously a ground pound jump. I mean, I don’t see no hip drop but a butt drop.
