The Nintendo Switch Has Been Updated To Version 3.0.2

A brand new update has been release for the Nintendo Switch, bringing the console to version 3.0.2. The update doesn’t do much for a lot of regions, but it has a lot more importance if you’re in South America. This is because online play has been made available in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Columbia and Peru. The paid online service won’t launch until 2018, so for the time being, they have made it for free. The full patch notes can be seen down below.

  • Nintendo Switch Online
    • Added online play in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Peru. This is currently available for free until the paid online service launches in 2018.
  • General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience

  1. Where the %#@$ is Netflix and a web browser and [insert tons of other useful apps]. I have friends that are into the idea of the Switch but won’t buy one because of basic things like these.

          1. That’s like me saying that we have cellphones only to make phone calls. Clearly that’s not the case, the same thing applies to this. It’s all about convenience.

      1. Eggsactly, ain’t you got a phone, tablet, laptop, PlayStation, Xbox, pc? … Even 5 year olds have phones lol … Just play games on Switch

      2. I second the motion; that’s an idiot comment. Every system has web browsering and Netflix and for an on-go device, this is pretty basic stuff these days. And before you through the phone excuse and tell me to use that, why the fuck would I bring that when I wanna play games and watch Netflix?

        1. You bring your phone with you everywhere anyway. There is a reason why the XONE flopped when it first came out. If you buy a Switch to use it as an app machine, you are not thinking straight.

          1. I have a switch, and no, I don’t take my phone everywhere. Nintendo is so fixated on mobile gaming and how phones have been the driving force to killing the handheld devices where they figured putting an app on the phone would be smart. But there are people who don’t have their phone wherever they go, and I’m one of them. So, for me, and I’m sure others, this app and the idea of this app is a fucking failure.

              1. Does that make even any sense? Does what you say make sense? Seriously? So, if I want to to outside without my phone and use my device to play games and then I want to maybe use the internet or even switch between game and YouTube video to see how I beat something, I shouldn’t have the chance to do that? I already have the switch in my hand, but I need to go look for my phone? You just fail in logic, dude. If I wanna look something up right there and on the fly while I’m having the game suspended, I shouldn’t have an internet browser? If I’m on the plane and I can’t use my phone because you can’t use your phones but can use the planes wifi for a device, I can’t use my Netflix on the switch? You sound like an idiot and even more so, a moron for damage controlling the thing Nintendo fans should get: a fucking option like every other system has had since 2006!

I guess some people hate the idea of convenience.

There is one thing about one of Duke’s comments that really irritates me. It sounds like he’s claiming the Xbox One failed because of all the apps. I’m no fan of Microsoft or Xbox but… *hits the buzzer* Wrong! It failed because of all the DRM bullshit & the lack of exclusives! It’s sad when people make up lies to prove their selfish point. “I DON’T CARE about having these extra features so they aren’t necessary for the system. If anyone wants these extra features & think they are necessary, they should rethink their priorities/purchases.” Aka they are wrong & their opinion is shit as only MY opinion matters. Self-centered people are the worst. Even when something is optional, they get upset because they don’t want them and that others can use them.

                2. The Switch was made for games. You might get your precious apps that any other device has in the future. I say again: buying a Switch and your mind isn’t for the games, you need to rethink your purchases.

I also bought the Switch for the few games that will interest me, but I’d still want the apps for convenience. I don’t want to start up my PS4 while on my Switch to watch Netflix when I should have it on my Switch, too. The days of a video game only system is dead. Many people want their devices to do everything even if they already have a device that does everything because they don’t want to switch between devices. Besides, if some people don’t want to buy the Switch til it has games & the apps they want, they can damn well do it as it’s their money, not yours. Don’t tell people how to think just because they won’t buy a stupid Nintendo system. Time to get rid of that fan mentality if it’s pushing you to tell people how to spend their money.

While I agree it’s silly to wait for apps to get a video game system, it’s not my money but theirs. If they want to be picky about how they spend their money on video game systems, that’s their right as consumers. They don’t need our approval.

    1. You mean the apps already available on my phone, and my PS4, and my Xbox One, and on my PC, and on my Apple TV, and on my actual TV? Yeah I’m so heartbroken its not on the switch…

    2. May I ask why? To be clear….every usual phone nowadays is sold with 5.5 inch screens 1080p/4k and you want 6.2 inch 720p device to play all those apps on the go or on the tv, while usual every tv can handle this alone instead or with a cheap addition of Mira-/Chromecast for $30-$40?

    3. Well to be fair, the Switch doesn’t have 4G like some Vitas did. So it wouldn’t be of much use if you are not around an area which has Wifi to connect to. Pretty useless apps if you ask me… Without Wifi, Netflix is a useless app that would mean a waste of memory space. That is why I have my PS4, to be able to use all of those media playing apps.

    1. I think that the Colombia not Colombia is overused… Like if saying Columbia would hurt our feelings.. We say “Inglaterra, Alemania or Francia” those are not their original names, is a language problem. For many years, Colombia was Columbia for the English Speakers.

This excuse that there are dozens of other devices with Netflix & such on it to defend the lack of them on Switch is damage control for Nintendo whether the people using the excuse want to realize it or not. It’s called convenience because if these apps are on their Switch, they can get to them quicker when they are done playing a game on Switch instead of having to boot up a completely different device.

I expect fanboys to defend Nintendo for the lack of these apps but the guys that usually aren’t kissing Nintendo’s ass are using this bullshit excuse to defend the Switch, too? Shame.

I wish I thought of this video earlier. lol (Yay for a SFW video of this line from Game of Thrones!)

    2. Don’t know why I didn’t see this message, but it’s straight fucking facts. Dudes on this site be fucking blind sheep’s that eat up any crap Nintendo throws at them. This is why we get shit and fans complain why Nintendo doesn’t care about our fans. We damage control the failures all the time.

This comment section has opened my eyes to the truth: being a fan (period) is for fools. As a fan, you are doomed to damage control for the company you call yourself a fan of at some point no matter how much said company pisses you off. Not to mention calling yourself a fan makes you forget the fact you are a consumer & that these companies only care about one thing: money. If you by some chance go somewhere else, oh well. There are plenty of people elsewhere willing to buy their crap in your place. There is a reason many companies target children in some form: to have people to replace the current consumer when that consumer either stops buying their crap or dies. EXACTLY like cigarette companies! (Oh that is bound to piss off some Nintendo fan that I dared to compare such an “innocent” family friendly company to such an evil, greedy, child murdering cigarette company!)

Being a fan also makes you forget that there are other people out there that might want more or better from the company you are a fan of which causes you to strike out & shoot down their opinions because they don’t align with your own.
