Today, we’re proud to announce new versions of the blockbuster detective thriller L.A. Noire, are scheduled to release on November 14, 2017 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Alongside these three new console versions, we’re taking our first steps into virtual reality with L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files, featuring seven select cases from the original game rebuilt specifically for a virtual reality experience on the HTC VIVE.
Set against the seedy and violent underbelly of 1940’s Los Angeles, L.A. Noire is the story of decorated veteran and newly minted detective Cole Phelps as he investigates an escalating series of cases inspired by real-world crimes. Each successfully solved case brings Phelps greater success, but also brings him closer to the dark criminal heart of post-war L.A.
L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files for HTC Vive delivers seven of the original engrossing, self-contained cases from L.A. Noire rebuilt specifically for virtual reality, blending breathtaking action with true detective work to deliver an unprecedented interactive experience.
L.A. Noire for the Nintendo Switch features the complete original game and all additional downloadable content, with specific enhancements including a Joy-Con mode with gyroscopic, gesture-based controls, HD rumble and new wide and over-the-shoulder camera angles, plus contextual touch screen controls for portable detective work.
L.A. Noire for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One delivers the complete original game and all additional downloadable content with a range of technical enhancements for greater visual fidelity and authenticity, including enhanced lighting and clouds, new cinematic camera angles, high resolution textures and more. Plays natively in 1080p for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, and stunning 4K for PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X, these versions capture the grit and grime of the City of Angels like never before.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in.
A game I skipped out on during the days of the Xbox 360. I always regretted that decision. I cannot wait to pick it up for the Switch. My body is ready.
Very cool…. lots of games keep piling up in anticipation of Holiday Season. Couldn’t be more excited, especially since I haven’t played this one
That came out of nowhere.
Like an RKO from Randy Orton.
Diamond Cutter. You never see it coming!

Understand what this means. Rockstar are dipping their toes into the Nintendo Switch. While RDR2 may be out of reach, if you were to want the next GTA game to come to Switch this would be one to support, as like it or not the sales of this will likely dictate Rockstar’s strategy on Switch going forwards.
I think a port of GTA 5 would’ve been a better option to gauge interest then.
GTA V would have taken WAY more resources, this game can be ported fairly quick.
The Switch is easy to port to and GTA V is a PS360 game. They’ve also made ungodly amounts of money from it. It can be done.
Come on Rockstar, you know really want GTA 5 ;)
switch version doesnt mention graphics upgrades maybe because there stressing the switch play abillitys but i expect a boost in graphics and rez
Well there will be an improvement on graphics, but it obviously won’t have 4k. I think most would be fine with improvements minus the high fidelity stuff.
LEO MESSI LOOKS GREAT DRESSED AS A LA DETECTIVE
” NintenMau5″ article: Rumour: Rockstar’s ‘L.A Noire’ May Be Heading To Nintendo Switch
Then this **** sicker come to claim the victory with this article when L.A Noire is officially confirmed!!
shame on you sicker!!
This is it boys, they are testing if we want their games, time to pre-order, I need that GTAV dream to come to reality.
I’ll take it over Red Dead (not into cowboys) but I wanted GTA IV! :(
This gives me hope for gta v. Everybody please support this game.
OMG im definitely getting this. Didn’t expect that even tho there were rumours a couple months back but I had forgotten
Wow I must say I am a little shocked. With NBA 2K18, WWE 2K18 and now L.A. Noire coming to the Switch it looks like Take-Two really believes in the system. Currently they are the main western publisher that’s been supporting the Switch and this is great news. A GTA HD collection for the Switch would be the key to for the system getting more western 3rd parties to bring their AAA titles to the system
Ubisoft would like a word.
This is huge! I too missed this on 360, and regretted it. Having the option to play on the go really enhances a game like this. This is a Day One for me.
Hopefully we’ll get at least 900p in docked mode. No specs for the Switch in the press release.
Rockstar seems to put a lot of care and effort into their releases. Even though this is an older game that they could’ve just upres’d and charged money for again it doesn’t seem as rushed and lazy as some ports/remasters are. They actually seem to have specifically tailored each version of this port to each platform they plan to release it on.
Support this to show Rockstar that Nintendo fans wanna play R* games on Nintendo platforms. Maybe then we can get future games from them released on Switch day and date with the other consoles.
Great to see the Switch getting more core AAA games now. Perhaps I’ll play this
This seems like a perfect fit for HD Rumble.
When people will stop to say ‘support this because I want the other game’? ‘People’ will buy it if interested on playing it. That kind of ‘support’ philosophy is just limited to the ‘nerd world’. Normal people will never buy somenhing they don’t need just to have a chance to play another game from that publisher.
This all day.
I’ll support Rockstar when we get GTA or RDR.
By buying those games that you like, exactly.
For anyone who skipped out on this game the first time, BUY THIS! It was an incredible game back then and I expect it to only be better.
It took place in a fascinating location and time period with great acting, graphics and gameplay. The soundtrack was top-notch and I couldn’t help myself but buy every bit of DLC when I had the chance.
It’s a shame that the development for the game with Team Bondi was so troubled and that it’s planned sequel was cancelled, but despite all that, this game is a masterpiece in environment, storytelling, and adventure.
But were the graphics as good as you say? I know it was using the power of the cell but people keep calling Switch under powered even though it is running games built around the power of the cell. And the cell can cure cancer, make insane dirt effects with uber Killzone graphics and run games at 120 frames per second.
The power of the cell is so powerful that its potential has obviously not been reached yet because it did none of those things.
So how come the cell is so powerful but Switch is “under powered”?
uhhh… I have no idea where that came from… :p
I don’t care about graphics updates. I missed out back in 2011 and getting the Switch version might just be what I need to convince myself to play this game. Besides, good sales might support more Rockstar games on Switch.
Is this the new policy of all big publishers? Give games only a few will love, demanding everybody is gonne buy or else we dont give you the game everybody wants?
Wtf is this shit? I have to buy la noir for a chance to get gtaV, need to buy streetfighter 2 if i like other capcom games, i have to buy fifa if i would love to have mass effect on the switch. Etc etc..
BULLSHIT!!!
I think you’re taking this a little too seriously.
I bought this on PS3, but haven’t played it yet. Now I’m glad I never did. Because this will most likely be superior in some way.
Never got around to playing the original, so I’ll definitely pick this up. I’ll go for the Switch version just for the portability alone.
