Nintendo Switch Online App Now Updated With Background Voice Chat

Good news today for those of you who use the Nintendo Switch Online app as it has received a well–needed update today. The best thing about the latest version of the application is that your voice chat will continue while other applications are open. Here’s the details:

  • Voice chat will now continue when other apps are opened.
  • Voice chat will now continue during sleep mode.
  • Improved support for Bluetooth devices.
  • Bug fixes implemented.
  • Note: On devices using Android 6.0 or later, voice chat cannot be used during sleep mode while power-saving features are activated. To use voice chat during sleep mode, go to Other Settings in this app, then select Power Saving Settings and deactivate battery optimization for this app.

    1. King Kalas X3 {I only buy exclusives that interest me on Switch. For everything else that interests me, there is PS4.} says:

Sadly, Valentino is most likely right. It’s either Nintendo’s way or the highway. Unfortunately for them, I’ve all but taken the highway as I refuse to get 3rd party games that aren’t exclusive & I won’t get any multiplayer games, including exclusives. Except maybe the next Smash game if Ridley and/or Lyndis is available as playable characters. lol

  1. People need to learn how to be patient. It was obvious from the beginning the app was still a work in progress and that Splatoon 2 was both test grounds for it and a reason to release the app before all features were completed and working satisfactory. Expect the app to continue to improve a lot in the upcoming months

    1. But according to the internet everything must be the final version upon release and nothing will ever change from updates…..

The internet is a big reason why this app sucks. It’s not so much the app as it is the people making it sound worse than it is. I used it, and while it’s not ideal. These updates put it in the same line as something like Discord for usability
