Mario Has Visible Nipples In Super Mario Odyssey

Super Mario Odyssey will allow players to explore an area called Bubblaine as a partially-clothed Mario, complete with visible nipples and a primarily-red polka dot underwear to match his iconic cap. You can check out the new screenshot above to see how Mario rocks this new look. Brand-new footage was also recently shown for Mario’s upcoming adventure, giving us a look at how the game’s visual presentation significantly changed for the better. Super Mario Odyssey is set to launch on October 27 for Nintendo Switch.

What are you two talking about? They’ve had a go at Peach, Mario, etc since those sites’ inceptions. lol

  1. Is it just me, or has the fandom starting to look like TMZ lately?
We’re making a big deal over something mundane.

Granted this is the first time we’ve seen Mario without a shirt on, but does EVERYBODY have to point out the nipples?
No, and yet people’re doing it anyway.

    1. Lately? I remember a message forum back before brawl was out and people made a big deal about rescuing either Peach or Zelda. So I decided to make a big deal of a mundane update as well: super spicy curry. In fact, I joke that if smash ever made another adventure mode, it should be called “Super spicy emissary.”

  2. Say what you will about Nintendo during the Wii U era, but you can’t deny they’re getting braver with their characters now. Link and Mario going shirtless, the designs of Twintelle and Marina…

Not even just their own characters and franchises, but with others, like in this last Direct. I never thought I’d see a swastika in a Nintendo video (Wolfenstein II).

Poor BotW Link, though. Nintendo forgot his nipples. lol

Or they were too lazy to add more detail to Link’s model. As we learned from Robbie in Akkala, he should also have a number of scars on his body, too.

          1. To be fair, Link WAS in a spa for a century with unknown technology, maybe it was strong enough to fade them unless you got real close.

On top of that, it is biologically possible for scars to fade on their own. When I was 9, I made the mistake of running in swimming flippers down the street and tripped. Shredded a good portion of my left knee. Of course, it left a very noticeable scar that was visible all throughout the rest of my grade school years and through high school. Now, after 16 years, I don’t see the scar anymore; you could look at both my knees next to each other and see no difference. So from my personal experience, I can chalk Link’s lack of visible scars up to the Shrine of Resurrection and his body’s own ability to heal.

  3. It felt like conscious decision not to make Mario run about all mexican, but made sure to flash the costume in the item store just to confirm it’s still there.
Flipping snowflakes getting upset over everything.

  4. On a day where there’s dozens of news stories you choose to create an article about this nonsense.

This site is ridiculously bad now. I mean, it’s always been a $1ut for Nintendo, but this takes the (wedding) cake…

  5. Oh my god Nintendo, you forgot to give him a belly button. Maybe he’ll get one of these in a future MARIO and be able to shoot out koopa shells !!

Apparently Mario is also supposed to have a tribal tattoo on his left upper arm. Unless that thing was just a joke back then from Nintendo.

Link is probably wondering why Mario has nipples but he doesn’t. (Probably because they didn’t bother to do more work on the Switch version to add more detail to Link’s body. For instance, he’s supposed to have scars on his body but yet you can’t see them when you have him down to his skivvies.)
