Bethesda Reveals Their Close Working Relationship With Nintendo And Teases More To Come

GamesBeat has just published a lengthy and interesting interview with Pete Hines, the vice president of marketing and communications at Bethesda. During the interview Hines spoke of the close working relationship the company now has with Nintendo. Hines teases that there’s more to come out of the intriguing partnership. You can read the full interview here.

GamesBeat: Did you have any particular kind of conversation with Nintendo when you proposed this?

Hines: Honestly, it’s been a long series of them. They came out to see us before they unveiled the Switch to show us what the hardware was like, what they were doing with it. We’ve been in constant conversation with them, and not just about the two games we have now, but about our whole approach to the platform going forward – what we can do, best practices, what things are a good fit, what they’re excited about in what we’re doing. We’re obviously excited about these two games, but it’s not as if we’re going to just do these two games and that’s it. We want this to be the start of a relationship that we build with Nintendo and Nintendo fans.

    1. King Kalas X3 {I only buy exclusives that interest me on Switch. For everything else that interests me, there is PS4.}

      Xbox? Maybe. PlayStation? Highly doubtful.

      1. Xbox makes more money than play station. As Xbox sells more games per unit. Not to mention game sales from windows store. Xbox well out live Sony by a lot……..

          That must be why Xbox One is at 60m sales while PS4 is at 30m. Not to mention Xbox is where Microsoft makes most of it’s money. Oh wait. That’s not right. It’s PS4 at around 60m with Xbox One at around 30m, and the Xbox brand is where Microsoft is bleeding money last I heard. Yeah. Sony doesn’t stand a chance against the almighty Xbox brand because that is so what’s carrying Microsoft!

  1. This is fantastic news. One of the biggest western developers putting in so much effort and being this excited to partner with Nintendo on Switch can only lead to even more amazing things from other developers as well. The final piece of the puzzle, which SO FAR seems to be also falling into place, is for Switch owners to BUY these games. Lord knows I’ll be getting Doom day one.

  2. Bethesda has put themselves in good graces with Nintendo fans. I will be purchasing all 3 of those AAA titles that are coming to the Switch and the ones coming in the future too. Welcome to the Nintendo family Bethesda :)

    1. Skyrim was already a lock for me, but Doom was a flat-out surprise.
      I’m not sure if I’m realy interested in Wolfenstein yet, but it’s a consideration for later.
      I dunno, maybe the snu-snu scene kinda put me off a bit.
      I can appreciate sexy when it’s done tastefully, but I’m not into walrus-on-stick-figure action.XD

      Bethesda gonna kick ass & take some names.

  3. I think that’s the biggest thing with Nintendo fans and third party games, there really isn’t much of a relationship between them (at least for the main hardware), other than maybe Ubisoft
