Kit and Krysta and the fantastic team over at Nintendo Minute have recently uploaded a video looking back at both the beloved Super Mario Sunshine and the iconic Super Mario 64. The team look at how these two 3D Mario title have influenced the upcoming epic, Super Mario Odyssey on the Nintendo Switch. If you’ve enjoyed these games then check out the latest video by Nintendo Minute.
I’m so glad they AREN’T making another Galaxy. Instead we’re getting Odyssey which is more like 64 & Sunshine. Anyway, HD remasters of Super Mario 64 & Sunshine for Switch down the road would be awesome.

Star Fox 2. :)
Although Odyssey is clearly inspired by 64 and Sunshine, I think it has a critical design element that is going to make me enjoy it a lot more (and gives a lot more weight to it being a “sandbox” style of 3D Mario). And that is being able to grab the Power Moons (essentially power stars) without being kicked out of the level. That was the main reason I’ve always preferred Banjo-Kazooie to Mario 64/Sunshine. I love Mario 64, but it never truly felt like I had much freedom when the game was constantly booting me out of the level. Still, they are good games.
Less than a month until Odyssey!
