The North American Super Mario Odyssey site is now officially open which includes an up to date map, amiibo information and various new clips. The website can be navigated by dragging the map to visit different sections.
Here are a few highlights:
- Amiibo functionality confirmed – exclusive outfits can be unlocked via amiibo, they also unlock power ups and temporary effects.
- A ‘Meet Cappy’ section, including new clips and move information.
- Updated map.
- A video section including the latest trailers.
You can visit the website here. Super Mario Odyssey will be available for the Nintendo Switch on 27th October, 2017.
Thanks
Let me guess! I need to buy that damn wedding Mario amiibo in order to get that outfit in the game, huh!? *right eye twitch*
I think the last trailer we got for Odyssey during the recent Direct said, in small print on the amiibo screen, “costumes granted by amiibo can still be obtained during normal gameplay” or something to that effect.
I hope so because the only one of that set I want to get is Bride Peach.
Eh, I’m not interested in any of those ones, and even if I were, they would be backlogged- I still have to get the Splatoon 2 trio, the Metroid amiibo, Mipha from BotW…
I see a few things that Super Mario Odyssey should be nominated for at the 2017 Video Game Awards–
– Platform Game of the Year
– Family Game of the Year
– Nintendo Switch Game of the Year
– Game of the Year
Ooh, I feel like Breath of the Wild might give it some serious competition in the “Switch GotY.”
}{ Amiibo are just on disk dlc… I can’t figure out why you peasants still buy them when they don’t provide any meaningful content… }{
Amiibos that don’t provide meaningful content are fine. Then people can buy a collectible that adds a costume or something in game. Cool. Or when they act as a little memory card like in Smash or Splatoon 2, that’s fine. When they provide meaningful content locked behind buying a piece of plastic, like extra levels and mini games in Splatoon 1, I hate them.
