Let me guess! I need to buy that damn wedding Mario amiibo in order to get that outfit in the game, huh!? *right eye twitch*

    1. I think the last trailer we got for Odyssey during the recent Direct said, in small print on the amiibo screen, “costumes granted by amiibo can still be obtained during normal gameplay” or something to that effect.

I hope so because the only one of that set I want to get is Bride Peach.

  2. I see a few things that Super Mario Odyssey should be nominated for at the 2017 Video Game Awards–

    – Platform Game of the Year
    – Family Game of the Year
    – Nintendo Switch Game of the Year
    – Game of the Year

    1. Amiibos that don’t provide meaningful content are fine. Then people can buy a collectible that adds a costume or something in game. Cool. Or when they act as a little memory card like in Smash or Splatoon 2, that’s fine. When they provide meaningful content locked behind buying a piece of plastic, like extra levels and mini games in Splatoon 1, I hate them.
