Super Mario Odyssey is a few weeks away from release, and Nintendo has decided to release a brand new video to promote the game. The trailer doesn’t have much gameplay, but it does have Mario’s latest adventure reimagined as a musical. As Mario and Cappy dance through the streets of New Donk City, the game’s theme can be heard. The video has been provided down below, if you want to see it for yourself.

Oh & I don’t hate musicals as I do love the Grease movies. I just don’t like most modern day musicals. Especially when they don’t belong in a particular movie or series.

This reminds me of the Super Mario 3 trailer. That one didn’t feature any game footage and was incredible.

This was by far the best Super Mario commercial since Super Mario Bros. 3. Mario doesn’t have to have a story or make sense. It’s all about the fun, whimsy and escape from real life. This is a commercial that captures that beautifully like we haven’t seen since the 90’s.
