Michel Ancel Shows Interest For Rayman 4

Michel Ancel at Ubisoft, best known for creating the immensely popular Rayman franchise, has shown an interest in bringing Rayman back for a fourth game. He recently took to Instagram where he snapped a picture of a large Rayman statue in a second-hand store. Ancel’s caption below includes “we’ll need to bring him back again… for his fourth adventure. Don’t let heroes die.” There have been many Rayman spin-offs but it would be awesome to see the fourth instalment come to fruition sooner rather than later.

  1. Rayman 2 is one of the most underappreciated classics of all time. I think it is so renowned for being ported to about 5000 different devices that people forget how *darn good* it is. It is one of the best 3D platformers of all time – certainly if you remove any that have “Mario” in the title – and it still holds up incredibly well today. A sequel in the spirit of it would be much appreciated by me but I don’t know how commercially viable such a Rayman game would be anymore unfortunately.

    1. The amount of rereleases for Rayman 2 that you mentioned shows that that game is definitely not underappreciated. People even prefer it over Rayman 3(My Personal favorite next to Origins and Legends).
It took me until the Ps2 Remake of the game for me to actually love it, because it felt like what the game really would’ve been.

    2. Played it on both N64 and Dreamcast. It’s so good it hurts. Clever, smart, atmospheric and beautiful. Why don’t people make games as good as Rayman 2 anymore? (I’ll give A Hat in Time a pat on its shoulder)

But, didn’t Ubisoft already bring him over to the Switch with the definitive edition of Rayman Legends?

Oh ok, I thought you meant any Rayman game. Sorry about that.

  2. Micheal Ancel is stupid. Why didnt he think of that in years 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017? Why would you wait 5 years to now think of another Rayman Legends? Now we have to wait until 2020 to see it at E3.

Why not just work on another sequal immediately? Nintendo works on their games immediately.

  3. Sega works on Sonic games immediately. So why does Ubisoft make “Let’s Dance” games immediately and never think of making a Rayman game immediately? Thats stupid

  4. I’d love to see a new 3D Rayman a la Rayman 2,but with more innovation I guess,I love Rayman 2 to death, but even I have to admit that 2D Raymans have more interesting ideas and Rayman 3 was good, but very average
