Need Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan and Primeape. Now.
No, we don’t need even more Generation 1 Pokemon, show generation 2, 5, 6, and 7 some love.
But… but… I’m old….
I’m curious…how old are you if I may ask?
Well that’s a surprise I didn’t expect any content to be developed for this game but sounds good lol
hardly content
Well it’s something. Wt they announced here doesn’t really matter to me either but it does show that they have an interest in continuing support and that’s wt you can take away from this if this doesn’t matter to you personally.
That friend team battle thing & group battle thingy should have been on there since day 1 so meh on those additions. How about more playable Pokemon, too, as it seems Gen 1 fighting types got the short end of the stick in this game?
This port isn’t deluxe til it’s got twice the amount of playable characters as the original game. Same with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with twice the amount of playable characters AND twice the amount of tracks.
“This port isn’t deluxe til it’s got twice the amount of playable characters as the original game.”
Dude, not even sequels match up to those kind of standards, you’re asking for way too much!
The Musou/Warrior sequels beg to differ. They got pretty good roster boosts in the first couple of sequels. Asking for twice as many from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is easy considering the dozens of old tracks from plenty of the older Mario Kart games. Same with Pokken Tournament DX since they still got over 700 other Pokemon to choose from. Not my problem Nintendo is just being cheap with these “deluxes.”
Musou games and fighting games are not even the same type of formats. Musou games give a character a decent amount of moves to select from while Pokken Tournament has a whole movelist for you to make use of. I played the hell out of Hyrule Warriors and Pokken Tournament and I can tell you that Link’s moveset in Hyrule Warriors and Pikachu’s moveset in Pokken Tournament has a huge gap in how much each 1 has.
As for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, okay here I can agree with you, I even reviewed it myself and said that the game didn’t offer enough that was new so we can agree on that game but Pokken? No, this is the first enhanced port on the Nintendo Switch that’s done right.
You go take a look at any fighting game, preferably in the last 2 generations, that has double the amount of characters on sequels and tell me how many of them actually managed that. You won’t because making even 1 character for a fighting game like Pokken can take an enormous amount of time. In fact the director of Tekken recently came out and said it takes anything from 6 months to a year to make just 1 character and considering how many other fighting game developers have said the same thing, it is safe to say they’re telling the truth.
Been playing this game constantly since release, it’s amazing! If Nintendo wants to add in DLC, I’d be more than happy.
I asked their twitter feed a few days ago about it. Team Battle feels awesome, liek ana ctual pokemon battle, cause you choose three pokemon, which one to go first based on your opponent’s choices, and when one goes down you choose which one goes out next. It feels less like a fighting game pokemon ripoff and more of a fighting game / pokemon hybrid. Will it be ranked though?
