The N64 Mini hasn’t been announced but if we were to get it then we’d probably be looking at next year as a possibility given the release times of the NES and SNES Mini’s. One can only dream, however, IGN have listed their top 16 games that they would like to see on it. Personally, I agree with a lot on their list as it includes awesome classics like Super Mario 64, Wave Race 64 and the incredible Goldeneye 007.

I only wish that if there’s a Nintendo 64 Mini that the graphics could be enhanced so that everything doesn’t look so square/polygonal. But I know they’d just be direct ports again.
I’m SO sick of seeing Goldeneye 007 on everyone’s favorite N64 games lists. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but MAN. I hate games like that. First person shooters are the worst genre ever. I hated them as a kid, and I still hate them now.
Pokémon Snap is another game I can’t understand the appeal of. What’s so fun about snapping photos of Pokémon in a rail shooter style of game? Though I’ll admit, I only played it for a few minutes and thought it was stupid.
I only agree with 10 of these games being included (some of these never would due to licensing issues etc.). But I want all 3 Mario Parties on it. I don’t want any left out. Though I wish they’d fix the play control in Mario Party 1 so people don’t get blisters and break their analog sticks. I would say I want Conker’s Bad Fur Day on it, but there’s multiple reasons why that would NEVER be on it.

Yeah. Not kid friendly, not family friendly, not safe for work, too violent, too many cuss words, sexually explicit, butt nudity because apparently only a small percentage of humans have an ass so it’s too vulgar for people to see, & the character isn’t even a hero but just an outright jackass, foul mouthed squirrel that could give Deadpool a run for his money!
I agree, I would subsitute Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire over Golden Eye 007.
Speaking of, do you know if Shadows of the Empire was one of the things wiped from Star Wars canon when Disney got rid of a lot of the extended universe stuff? SotE was made by Lucasarts so I want to assume it’d be safe.

Pokémon stadium would be hard to pull off well. There would be no way to get your Pokémon from the Gameboy to the N64. Especially since Pokemon red/blue/gold/silver has been relegated to the Virtual Console (and the red and blue game carts probably all have lost their battery power). It’s unfortunate, but that was one of the biggest draws of that game.
*Technically* an N64 Mini could very well be able to communicate with your 3DS and maybe the transfer apps or a new dedicated app. I don’t think that will happen, but it would be perfectly *possible*.
3 Mario Party? 2 Pokemon Stadium? Please…

My real question is, what would the controller be like? I’m certain tjat the rumble would be integrated, but would the memory cart be included? That was one thing that bugged me about the Wii U Virtual Console. I also ask because Bomberman 64 is on my list.

To each his own of course, but assuming some rare classics like Banjo and Conker can’t make the cut… I would replace Pokemon Puzzle League with Kirby and the Crystal Shards, Wave Race 64 with Star Fox 64, Mario Golf with Mario Tennis, and Star Wars with Resident Evil 2.
Overall IGNs list is really dam good!

Neither would the Banjo games.
I guess I’m the only person who actually played Mischief Makers/Yuki Yuki Troublemaker, Nightmare Creatures and Jet Force Gemini on the N64. No one even mentioned them, sad to see so called “N64 fans” sink so low O_O
I would swap out puzzle league with Pokémon stadium, Star Wars with star fox, and snowboarding with crystal shards.
Also I would want both banjo games, sissy king racing, and Conker added on there but that’s probably not a thing

What the blazes are these lists without Perfect Dark? It was far superior to Goldeneye. It’s one thing if there’s a licensing issue, but if not…

As much as I would love to see Banjo-Kazooie, Conker’s Bad Fur Day, Diddy Kong Racing, and Goldeneye 007 on an N64 Classic, I doubt we will because of… well, we all know.
So leaving them out, my list (of 16, keeping in line with IGN) would be:

I’m surprised no one else listed that last one, seeing as that, up until Wii Virtual Console it was Japan-only; S&P could be the Star Fox 2 of an N64 Classic Mini.
If Nintendo didn’t foolishly let Rare go, we could see games like Banjo, Goldeneye 64, & Perfect Dark on an N64 Mini. Of course, we could have seen them AND Conker’s Bad Fur Day on Wii & Wii U virtual console in the past. (Conker would NEVER make it onto the N64 Mini since Nintendo would want to sell it to families, not just the adults.)
