According to Nintendo’s official game page for the upcoming WWE 2K18, which is slated to release on Nintendo Switch this Fall, you’ll need 32GB of free SD card space in order to download the title from the eShop. Not only that, you’re also required to have at least 1GB of free system memory as well.
ATTENTION: a microSD card (sold separately) with free storage space of minimum 32GB is required to download this game, plus 1GB on the system memory. You must have your microSD card inserted before beginning the download.
Lol, these games are gonna sell really low. I don’t plan to buy games that request that kind of space outside. Probably some people will think like me. I want everything in the card. And if I download something it must be low on data.
It’s the christmas season. An overwhelming majority of the copies sold in the launch window will be physical so kids have something to open on christmas.
It actually doesn’t say anything about the physical version. This is digital.
It’s valid for the latter too. Too much is too much. Many people aren’t gonna buy multiple SD cards (or costly big cards) just for that basket game. Eventually they should have provided an optional download without FMV, etc. For me it’s just a no go.
Yeah I agree. 2K games sucks at this and it’s going to bite them.
Why are the 2K18 games taking up so much space compared to other games?
2K games have a lot of uncompressed textures unlike first party Nintendo games.
Nobody uses uncompressed textures anymore. The reason its large is because there are 220 playable wrestlers. Each has their own entrance music and video. There are also create-a-wrestler assets, a bunch of different arenas, assets for custom arenas, several hundred moves, commentary, etc.
I’m really hoping there’s a physical version… Also something worth noting: Nintendo’s description of the game says there are 8 player matches, its been reported numerous times that the game only supports 6 on the switch.

The game card is 16gb? So a physical would probably be 17gb download plus game card?
I can’t believe there’s a 2k game for WWE. Stuff can’t change that often I would think.
Even if you buy it physical, have fun watching what little data you have left on Switch get eaten up by the physical release of this game. Good thing I got a PS4 with external hard drive support!
