Nyko Switch Dock Reportedly Damaging Some Users’ Consoles

Nyko is a manufacturer of third-party accessories for various gaming consoles and they’ve created a nifty, portable dock for the Nintendo Switch. The compact design of the dock makes bringing the original dock with you a thing of the past. However, some users are reporting some issues with this Switch accessory. In some cases, the dock is damaging the USB-C port on the Switch making it impossible to charge even with the normal charging cable. It’s also reported that the accessory isn’t quite working how it should be which has prompted Nyko to release a statement:

“Nyko is currently working with customers affected by issues [with their systems] and are looking into the matter,” a Nyko representative said in a statement to Digital Trends. “While the issue seems to only affect a small amount of consoles, the company is taking it seriously and has a policy where they will [replace] any accessories or consoles damaged due to their products.”

      1. I am loving Splatoon, but I suck so if you want someone to beat up on for a little while, SW-6871-3757-2202. Especially now I’m trying out some new weapons, like the Tent. It’s fun, but way different than the dualies I’m used to. Keeps the game fresh for me to try out new and weird stuff.

  1. King Kalas X3 {I only buy exclusives that interest me on Switch. For everything else that interests me, there is PS4.}

    Least they are offering to replace your Switch if their stupid dock damages it. So that’s a plus.

        That’s what the article says, anyway.

  2. They really should be commended for their response to the issue. The took responsibility and are offering to go as far as replacing the console. Thankfully the newest update makes transferring save data possible.
