We found out yesterday that Shin Megami Tensei V will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch which is a big get for the Kyoto-based company. Kazuyuki Yamai will be leading the project and Siliconera reports that the concept behind Shin Megami Tensei V is to look back and reflect on the characteristics of the times. However, the reason for Atlus deciding on the Nintendo Switch as the platform of choice for Shin Megami Tensei V is because fans can enjoy the game both on the go and hooked up on their HD TV. Pretty simple reason, really.

This is awesome! Love the SMT series and can’t wait to see what they are able to do with SMT V on the Switch. If they bring it to the US I’m buying it for sure.
Because 1. The 4th sold well and 2. Its the fucking Switch. It’s selling like hot cakes now and Altus has a good relationship with Nintendo. Also, fuck PS/XB.
They committed to being Switch exclusive before the console even proved itself as a hit.
