Pokémon The Movie: I Choose You! Gets Two Encore Screening Dates In U.S. Cinemas In November

  • WHAT: Due to overwhelming fan demand for the Pokémon brand, high ticket sales and sold-out auditoriums across the country, Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You! will return to movie theaters nationwide for two special encore dates on November 11 and 14, in addition to the original dates of November 5 and 6. “Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!” is an origin story highlighting Ash and Pikachu’s first meeting and their adventures as they search for the Legendary Pokémon Ho-Oh.

 Fans who purchase tickets for the November 5 and 6 showings will have the chance to receive a never-before-seen Pokémon Trading Card Game card, featuring Ash’s Pikachu wearing its Trainer’s hat, and a QR Code that unlocks an in-game event and Ash’s Pikachu wearing its Trainer’s hat in the upcoming Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon video games (While supplies last. Quantities are limited). The Pokémon TCG card and video game QR Code are not offered for November 11 and 14 screenings.

    I heard the movie was decent anyways. I would just wait until someone uploaded the entire English version of this movie to YouTube or something other than wasting money on it.

    I also don’t like that they replaced Brock and Misty with two other people. That was such a weird change and to top it off I heard that they basically serve no other purpose then to just follow Ash around. They even try to give them a backstory, but, they couldn’t even make those interesting. They probably would’ve been better off having Ash and Pikachu journey by themselves.

    Not to mention, the only reason Marshadow is in the movie is to advertise that people can download him to Pokemon Sun and Moon. Nurse Joy even says, at one point in the movie, that you can download him during or after the movie is over. It seems really pointless to shoehorn him in like that. They could have just made another movie revolving around Marshadow in the future.

    Other than those two gripes, it seems to be better then a lot of the past Pokemon movies (especially the one revolving around Hoopa *shudders*). I still don’t think it’s worth paying to see in theaters though.
