Super Mario Maker Has Been Updated On Wii U & 3DS

Updates have been released for the Wii U and 3DS versions of Super Mario Maker. The Wii U version was updated to 1.47, and it turned out to be the biggest of the two. This is because of Nintendo’s initiative to shut down Miiverse. Miiverse comments in Super Mario Maker are no longer a thing. As for the 3DS version, it was updated to 1.04. However, the only thing mentioned by Nintendo’s patch notes is that “a number of issues have been fixed to make for a pleasant playing experience. The patch notes for both are down below.

Wii U:

  • Accompanying the ending of the Miiverse service, new comments can no longer be added and existing comments can no longer be viewed on uploaded courses. Courses can still be uploaded, played, and evaluated.
  • A number of issues have been fixed to make for a pleasant playing experience.

3DS:

  • A number of issues have been fixed to make for a pleasant playing experience.

  1. The Wii U’s life will soon fully end. Soon, it will know peace. Right now, it’s just happy it’s offspring was able to assume it’s throne and do what it was never able to achieve.

      1. It’ll definitely inherit Smash Bros. 4 sooner or later.

For Bayonetta and Pikmin, instead of just importing their sequels that were on the Wii U, it would be better to just make Bayonetta 3 and Pikmin 4 for the Switch instead.

And I doubt they’ll import Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD to the Switch though, especially with Breath of the Wild on the Switch. Or they’ll make a Skyward Sword HD.

    1. I know, right? I would have download the 3DS version without a second thought if they added level sharing. But nope, it’s still basically the same way it was only with a few bug fixes. How the hell can they not see that the 3DS version desperately needs level sharing!?

It’s almost been a year since the 3DS version was released and it still shocks me how much they screwed it up.

      1. I’m sure it’s sales sucked because of that. There’s still hope for the Switch to get a port WITH ONLINE SHARING and more sprites from Mario Bros. All-Stars remaster on the SNES.

  2. This wrecks like half of my levels, since I used comments to tell stories, give hints, and, for my theme park level, as billboards and signs for attractions (“please keep your hands and feet in the car at all times” for a don’t-touch-anything roller coaster segment, for example).

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: as bad as Miiverse started out and later deteriorated into, ending it now is waaaaay too soon. So much for supporting Wii U games by taking half of the support away for a lot of them (Mario Maker, Xenoblade X, MvDK: Tipping Stars, etc.).
