Here’s What Super Mario Run Looks Like Running On The New iPhone X

Nintendo has released a new clip to demonstrate how Super Mario Run runs on the iPhone X. As you can see in the embedded video below, the mobile game takes advantage of the new phone’s 5.8‑inch OLED screen. In terms of gameplay, the Mario title is played the same as on any other iPhone that supports it. Super Mario Run can be downloaded for free on iPhone and Android devices, but a one-time payment is required in order to unlock everything it has to offer.

    1. Face ID, higher resolution, OLED screen, better AR capabilities.

These are improvements, whether it justifies a $1000 price tag is based on opinion. Personally, it doesn’t justify the price tag but I still really want one.

      1. Face ID doesn’t work as seen in its own presentation. Higher resolution? lol My ass. It’s the same shit as Retina Display. Better AR? Who the fuck cares about AR? Not even 70+ million 3DS owners even mentions it. VR on the other hand is another story.

      2. Mine’s still in UPS’s hands. I preordered it at 3am on October 27th and I’m still waiting for it to get here. It was finally finished in manufacturing and was released to UPS on Friday. For me, I’ve always preferred a smaller form factor so I never splurged on any Plus model. It’ll be nice to have a screen that maximizes the space available on the smaller phone. That’s what’s mainly its biggest selling point for me. Higher resolutions are cool and all, and I’m sure the screen will look gorgeous, but smartphone screens have been looking great for years now.

On a side note, Face ID worked exactly how it was supposed to during their keynote. That first model locked the guy out because too many people were dicking around with it when they were setting it up. That said, I really couldn’t care about that. I’ve always loved Touch ID, but we’ll see how it works for me.

      3. Yeah, Face ID actually does work. Higher resolution also does exist and isn’t the same thing as it is on an iPhone 8 or 8 Plus. Retina display is one thing, resolution is another. I encourage you to do some research on what that means since Retina display doesn’t mean high resolution (all the previous iPhones have had a variation of 720p resolution, definitely not mind-blowing with 4K resolutions on Galaxy).

I also do currently own an iPhone 8 and fail to see a difference from my previous iPhone 7, so I’m not sure what you’re talking about.

And AR is more than just gaming. As of now, nothing really uses it since it’s kind of new that Apple is pushing for it, but the tech is still there and it’s basically the same question as VR, “will people use it?”

At least recognize these improvements and say you don’t like them, instead of saying they’re not there or they’re nonexistent. It’s unfortunate when people have to alter facts so they can make their point stand, but even without altering facts, they always have the option of saying they don’t like it and everything will still be fine and accept it (unfortunately there are some people out there that don’t accept that).
