Nintendo UK have published a message from the producer behind Project Octopath Traveler thanking fans for their feedback of which he’s received 45,500 responses. Here’s what Mr. Takahashi had to say to the fans of the demo, courtesy of Nintendo UK.
Hello, this is Masashi Takahashi, the Producer of project OCTOPATH TRAVELER for Nintendo Switch.
It’s already been two months since we released the project OCTOPATH TRAVELER demo version. The end of October marked the cut-off point for our gameplay survey, and despite only running it for around six weeks, we received 45,500 responses from across the world, which was a great honour and a huge surprise! Thank you all very much for taking part!
We’re reading through each of the responses we’ve received, and we’ll get back to you in due course with the results of the survey. We’ll also provide impressions and ideas that the development team have had in response to your comments.
In the meantime, I just wanted to take this moment to say a big thank you for the wonderful reception you’ve given us so far. We’re working hard on development, and I hope you’ll all continue to support project OCTOPATH TRAVELER!
For those of you who haven’t tried the free demo* yet, please note that it’s still available to download, so I hope you’ll consider trying it!
You can download it from Nintendo eShop on your Nintendo Switch, or via this page – just sign in and press the “Download demo” button to get started!
This is what FF should return
Maybe I should get my Switch & check this demo out.
I’d love to contribute, but I still don’t have a Switch :(. Game looks great!
I really enjoyed my time with the demo. My feed back mostly pertained to stuff like bigger text font (handheld it felt way to small). Either auto text like in smt/persona series and/or cut scene skipping. Dying to a boss and having to go through so much dialogue again was annoying. This is going to be a classic must have jrpg exclusive to only the switch
I remember one game I played where if I died at a boss, the game would remember I already listened to the dialogue before dying by the boss’s hands & would allow me to skip it on my next attempt as long as I didn’t restart the game. Come to think of it, I think it was Xenoblade Chronicles that did that!
I just hope the feedback doesn’t end up leading to a “too many cooks in the kitchen” scenario.
3 hours of the demo and I really loved it… here’s to hoping the game will be as good as the hype
Looking forward to it too. Maybe a sexier title for the game though…
Like Fates of 8 or anything else. Haha.
Octo is a FANTASTIC demo. Extremely polished and the music is incredible.
