Polygon had set themselves a huge task to celebrate their fifth birthday and that’s to produce a list of the 500 best games of all-time. We won’t publish the full list of games here but you can check out their entire list, right here. For now, here’s the site’s top ten video games:

According to their logic,they have listed multiple pioneering games to their genres.Fine by me,but Half Life 2 and Super Mario 64 should be in there.
Pokemon, Zelda, Mario and World of Warcraft all under top ten? I’m completely satisfied so far, where’s the rest of that list!
In my opinion, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is the best game of all time.

Well this is sure to settle everyone down, and put an end to all future disputes.
For what it’s worth, I think what’s in the top 10 is a lot better than most people’s top 10 all time lists.
I dislike when publications call their list “Best Games of All Time” when what they really mean is “Most Influential Games of All Time.”
I dislike when readers think it isn’t “Best Games of All Time” just because they disagree with the list.
I love retro games, I generally prefer them to modern games, but honestly, the number of retro games in the top makes me want to automatically discredit this list since it’s mostly just another “most influential” list.
Zelda 1 is my favorite Zelda, but there’s no way it’s better than every other entry in the series.

Strongly disagree, and happy to argue the point. Zelda 1 is the best Zelda. Number of features do not denote quality in a game. Settlers of Catan is not superior to Chess.

I would change Ms. Pacman for Space Invaders
