UK trade publication MCV has recently caught up with Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda to chat about the Nintendo Switch. Matsuda says that the Nintendo Switch is an extremely attractive console for the company to develop for and also an important one.
“The Switch is a very attractive and important platform for us. As a games company, having that breadth in our portfolio is very important, with the Switch being such a unique piece of hardware,” Matsuda admitted to MCV in their latest issue.
“When we started work on Project Setsuna, the Switch wasn’t even out yet, there was no information about it. We really set out to make this style of game and to make it on [a] home console. But we didn’t really have any particular ideas about which console we were going to go for in the planning stage.”
Still don trust them, their word means as much as EA’s.
Lol I wouldn’t put them that low, they have supported 3ds and wiiu to a degree but they do have project octopath which is looking great and I think is exclusive for now to switch and PC. Their showing support with dragon quest too so way more than EA at this point
Octopath Traveller is Switch only.
Nah, there’s a special classification of cancer in the industry that is reserved specifically for the likes of EA and Bobby Kotick,
Well they have been a lot more supportive than EA so let’s see about that. As for EA, SCREW THEM.
I take back my previous statement on another article about you. I think you are an idiot, after all, if you are honestly putting Square Enix in the same boat as EA. …dumbass….
bring Nier: Automata then.
And, at least, KH Collection while they’re at it. There’s no excuse to Switch not have those games.
Less talk more games
Bring NieR, FFXV (no chibi version, full thing), we are still waiting for Dragon Quest Heroes 1 & 2 btw
Again? They already said this last month.
So bring KH3 on the Switch
Bring on Final Fantasy 15 then.
Hope in more Octopath and less FF. There is a real need of very high quality games and FF are todays garbage, while that new Octopath game looks really cool. That’s the way to pursue, I would not like portings of mediocre games.
