Metro recently got to go hands-on with Soulcalibur VI which is coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC next year and the publication took the chance to speak with the games’ Producer, Motohiro Okubo. Okubo was asked if we can expect a Switch version but because the game has been in development for over three years, and the team didn’t know know what Nintendo’s next console was going to be back then, a Switch version isn’t currently on the agenda for him. Although the chances of seeing Soulcalibur VI on the Nintendo Switch are looking rather slim, it’s promising to hear that Okubo is, like many people, interested in the system.
GC: Is there any chance of a Switch version, so we can have Link again? [Link was the guest character in the GameCube version of SoulCalibur II – GC]
MO: SoulCalibur VI development started more than three years ago. And nobody knew anything about Switch back then. So, as a matter of fact we are not working on Switch, as of now. But of course, personally, I’m interested in the platform. So if the Unreal Engine can adapt to Switch, and evolve itself, then maybe the possibility will be more.
Please Bandai Namco? Please?
I hate to say it, but this will be the reason I gotta buy a ps4 over a switch this December. Man this is a pain, I just want to play my favourite fighting games on the switch…
I would say patience but I guess you don’t know what it means
Go fuck yourself. Patience doesn’t mean waiting for something that doesn’t fucking exist.
Yup, you’re salty.
Get the PC version and save yourself some money.
I can’t stand PC gaming. When I got TF2 for PC, it broke my computer and I had to get it fixed. Buy a real console.
Figures. But time will tell if they’re true to their word about the Switch.
Oh, this game will definitely be coming to Switch. Obviously not at the original launch, but give it a year or so and no doubt it will be on there.
Yeah, I’m not believing them until I see it.
Namco is one of the least trustworthy studios out there in my opinion.
Really odd, since the leaker said it was a thing.
One of the best selling SOUL CALIBERS was the one for GameCube-Soul Caliber 2. So it would make perfect sense to bring SC6 to The Switch.
The gamecube was more powerfull than the ps4 and slightly less powerfull than the xbox. The Playstation sold more though cause Nintendo already lost there playerbase to the ps1 vs n64. The ps1 offered disc based games and the library that the Snes used to offer , with great RPG’s , Fighting games like Street Fighter and games like mega man, castlevania, Metal Gear solid and many new franchises. Don’t get me wrong I liked the n64 but it had 8-12 solid games vs 40-60 on the ps1. Nintendo tryed to give there fans a powerfull console with a big library on the gamecube but the damage was already done, resulting in Nintendo making weaker gimmick consoles , the wii sold great and so will the switch but the real core gamers pay the price for this cause they are missing out on allot of amazing games witouth buying multiple platforms.

I am sick of this tired old excuse, if the PS4 came out this year you can bet it would immediately be on there. It’s utter bullshit, I never believe it, and im tired of hearing it.
But your basicly saying (and many other people on this website) that all these company’s have excuses cause they don’t like Nintendo? Wich is the same as saying they don’t wanna make extra money because it’s Nintendo. Do you realize how ridiculous this sounds? If Nintendo made a console thats easy to support like PC / PS4 / Xbox and it had the right playerbase ofcourse company’s would release there games on a Nintendo console! They already invested in creating there game, so why not release it cross platform and make extra money? The problem since the WII though, is that company’s always have to adjust there game for a Nintendo console, wich takes time and money! And the player base consist mainly of casual gamers like small children and peoples mothers. Core gamers want the latest triple A titles and Nintendo hasn’t been able to offer this since the Gamecube. During the WII I could go to a local bar and every girl and 40+ year old would play the WII there and later bought one at home , cause they liked games like WII Golf but those aren’t the kind of people that play the big budget third party games cause they are casuals. The same probally goes for the WII U (the casuals left cause the hype was over) and the Switch most likely. (So far atleast)
In the end a big chunk of the people that supported Nintendo in the late 80’s and 90’s all left to other consoles and those are the kind of people that play the games that Nintendo is lacking. If I met 30 people in my life that played Nintendo on a daily basis i’m pretty much the only one left thats still intrested in Nintendo just cause I grew up with them and they have a special place in my heart , but others don’t care for these kind of sentimentals.
I’m fine with this. Sure I would like Soul calibur VI on the Nintendo switch, but unlike Megaman, I don’t have to have it on a Nintendo console.

If I want this game, I got a PS4 so no issue here.
What’s the point now. Release it when the game is old then sell it 10 bucks more than the other versions.
