Nintendo Is Looking To Create Unique Experiences With Switch HD Rumble And Joy-Cons In 2018

Nintendo has briefly shared its plans for 2018 with a Japanese newspaper and it seems that the emphasis for the new year is providing unique experiences with the technology in the Switch controllers – the Joy-Cons. The company says that it plans to make new gameplay experiences which utilise the HD Rumble and motion detection cameras from the Joy-Cons. We shall have to wait and see what they have in store for us.

  1. Something like a new Warioware could be cool. Don’t force this into mainline games that don’t need motion controls and such gimmicks.

  2. I hate motion controls. I think if they are done minimally, like in the new Mario or Zelda, it can be a great compliment to a standard controller. The only motion based games I like are driving games like Mario kart, with the option to turn them off.

  3. Infinite Kalas X3, The Sonyendo King

As long as motion controls are optional this time around, I’m cool with this. I’d even use motion controls for some games if they aren’t forced & badly integrated, like in Star Fox Zero. (Of course, it’d be nice if they made some better Joy-Con Straps, or thicker Joy-Cons, because they aren’t very comfortable in my hands for long periods of time.)

  4. I’m still waiting for an enjoyable tennis game, the perfect companion for Joy-Cons. It’s incredible that almost a year passed and no one made it. In the eighties tennis games were so common, and we had not rackets to play them with. Meh.

An HD remake of Skyward Sword, like what they did with Wind Waker, would be great as they can improve and/or get rid of the things in the game that annoyed some people about it.

No. No it’s not. (Still waiting for a Zelda game that uses HD Rumble! The next Metroid better use HD Rumble, too, or there will be hell to pay!)
