Just in time for the new year, Nintendo of Japan has announced the results of their first annual Game of The Year polling. A total of 64 games were voted on by 80 fans. Each fan named five games. Their first place pick got 5 points, 4 points for second place and so forth. As for the results, Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey were the clear favorites. We’ve included the Top 10 list down below.

Nice to see Fire Emblem Echoes getting some respect after getting swept under the rug by most people and award shows.
At this point, FE is being milked to death and basically the same game with different plots. They might as well be DLC expansion packs instead of new games. XP
You could make that argument for a lot of series though.
Sure, Metroid isn’t milked to death, but it’s own games, especially the 2D ones, practically all play the same.
The main core of FE is to tap a spot on screen, fight nearby enemies and DONE. Metroid does slightly change up the gameplay with every game EXCEPT the previous two garbage titles that doesn’t deserve a spot in Metroid lore.
If you actually played the game, you would know the clear differences between Echoes and Fates such as the combat system, the addition of shrines, the leveling system, the writing, the map design, etc. Don’t try to talk shit about stuff you know nothing about.
I’ve played FE before. It’s basically tap, fight, DONE.
I’m really happy SWD2 is getting so much love.

Breath of the Wild is an extremely overrated game. Its story sucks almost as bad as Other M, the weapon system needs adjustment, the combat is a little basic compared to previous Zelda games, and the Lack of interesting reasons to explore the world (there are too many times when you’re rewarded with only a Korok seed or a useless weapon you already have or have ones that are better)
Not a bad game in its own right, but clearly not even in the top 5 Zelda games.
Not my Game of the Year but whatever.
