Phantasy Star Online 2 Cloud is heading to the Nintendo Switch in Japan and interestingly because it’s cloud based it won’t actually need updates. To get the game you download a very small file from the eShop and then it simply updates and run behind the scenes so you’re not bothered with updates. However, the game will only run at 30FPS due to bandwidth issues and SEGA says to expect some lag.
Sega states that the game will operate at roughly the “five or six” setting for the PC edition, and the free-to-play/microtransaction scheme will naturally return. You can cross-play and cross-save on PC and Switch with the same SEGA ID.

Just trying to help :)
Uhm, don’t we already have an HD model for Rambi?
So you’ll be unable to play it in handheld mode out of the house, defeating the purpose of a Switch version.
looks like you wont be able to play it in all its 144p undocked glory
Hm? I’m not interested in this game at all. Just pointing something out.
So was I
I don’t understand. Where was that confirmed? Unless you’re just one of those sad lonely individuals that has to talk down anything having to do with Nintendo. In that case I feel sorry you. Maybe one day you’ll become an adult.
Congratulations you’re an absolute moron 😂 😂
If only wi-fi hot spots were a thing. Oh wait! They are!
And you trust that they’re good enough to handle online gaming reliably?
I wouldn’t know as I don’t do portable online gaming. Even if wi-fi hotspots aren’t reliable, online gamers either don’t leave their house for online gaming anyway or they make sure they have a tablet or smartphone or laptop they can convert into a personal wi-fi hotspot that IS reliable. So if any of them own a Switch, this won’t be an issue for them.
Besides, a Switch version isn’t pointless even if it can’t be played on the go as some people, like me, don’t really use our Switch on the go. Some of you are so obsessed with the portable aspect of the Switch that you all forget it’s also a home console & some people don’t mind using it solely as that.
I also play mostly at home too but the portability is still very convenient.
Not to mention those that either can’t or won’t get another system & prefer to stick solely with their Switch might want to play games from other systems on the Switch, too.
Hi Mike S. The guy named Pinwheel is just a troll. In a previous news I sent the video you see above and he insulted me without any reason.
||An old troll at that…||
You read this Doctor Jeff? Now you have to bring Overwatch on the Switch
I think Destiny 2 should come then because this disproves their Bull claim about how Online only games defeat the purpose of a handheld
Overwatch has that particular graphic style that fits well on the Switch in compares to Destiny 2
Not only that, Destiny is just a scam that sells you a portion of the game at full price like No Man’s Lies.
…
Here’s hoping I can Play this game without much help because I wanna Try this
Gonna be very interesting following this one. Phantasy Star Online was a blast to play with friends.
Hm, Phantasy Star Online (1) also kind of ran “from the cloud” seeing as the server would stream you quest data on demand. This allowed them to constantly supply new content in spite of not doing updates.
But this description makes it sound like some sort of PSNow/OnLive kinda thing. Streaming game footage…
I guess MMOs are designed for high latency play to begin with so it could’ve been worse.
