Rumour: Konami Looking To Bring ReBirth WiiWare Trilogy To Switch

There’s a rumour floating around that Konami is looking to bring its acclaimed ReBirth titles to the Nintendo Switch. There were three games – Gradius ReBirth, Castlevania The Adventure ReBirth and Contra ReBirth all released on WiiWare and apparently Konami is looking to bring them back to life on the Nintendo Switch.  Konami is apparently also working on a 4th ReBirth title for the platform. If we hear anymore we shall let you know.

  1. When did all the big companies decide they don’t actually like *making* games anymore? Remember when we got a final fantasy every other year, complete metal gear solid games in a timely manner, and a bucket of mega man games all on one console? Remember when Valve was a game developer? If modern graphics make it too expensive and time consuming to make games, if that’s the problem, I say to hell with graphics.

      1. “pending all their budget on marketing and hookers.”

They have to spend a lot on budgeting *because* of the expense of developing high end graphics. They have too much invested into a game to run any risk of it not selling in extremely high numbers.

    1. It’s not that they’re not making them anymore, I think it’s more that those games take years to make now in the HD era when people expect big open worlds with sandbox-like gameplay. That last Metal Gear Solid game was MASSIVE. Also, people tend to get Mega Man fatigue. When there are too many of the 8-bit style games in a row, people cry foul, but when they space them out, I think people appreciate them a little more.

      1. The HD era was my point. Not every game has to be an open world sandbox. That was never a player demand. And Mega Man fatigue? The last time we got more than two on the same platform was the PS1. I could buy that as a rationale when we averaged more than 1 new mega man game a decade.

    1. Why? We’re getting Bloodstained anyway and Konami is no longer worth our time. They might as well go burn in hell after the whole Kojima nonsense.

    1. Infinite Kalas X3, The Sonyendo King

There is one WiiWare title I’d rather not get ported but instead get remade into a 60 dollar game: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King. (Probably a huge pipe dream, though.)
