US: Over 60% Of Nintendo Switch Owners Own Super Mario Odyssey

Nintendo of America must be chuffed today as they’ve announced that the Nintendo Switch has become the fastest-selling console in the United States. To delve a bit deeper into it Takashi Mochizuki from the Wall Street Journal has broken down software figures. It would appear based on Nintendo’s numbers that an impressive 60% of Nintendo Switch owners in the United States own Super Mario Odyssey. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild isn’t far behind with a 55% share.

  • over 60% Nintendo Switch owners have Super Mario Odyssey
  • over 55% own The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
  • over 50% own Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  • over 20% own Splatoon 2

      1. At this point, you’re basically a bullshitter Anti-Nintendo troll. Every single post I see from you specifically is “Oh Nintendo sucks this and Nintendo sucks that”. Give it up and enjoy your Knack, a much shittier game.

You clearly haven’t seen many of my posts. Just the other day I was accused of being a Nintendo fanboy, incapable of acknowledging what Sony has to offer. Just because I don’t like the same aspects of Nintendo as you, doesn’t mean I don’t like Nintendo. I’m sitting two feet from an NES toploader, SNES using a SCART cable and SCART to component converter, and an RGB modded N64 set up to a standard def Sony Trinitron. The idea that I’m an anti-Nintendo troll is kind of laughable.

The *reason* it’s my most disappointing game of 2017 is I’m a *HUGE* Mario fan. If you’d like to actually talk about why I didn’t care for Odyssey I’d be happy to do so, but so far you seem to being content to make up my opinion for me.

      3. 60% of switch owners have this game but 0.000000000000000000000000000000001% of them didn’t like it.
I think this narrows it down to about 1 person

I’ve seen plenty of negative reactions to the game. Though it should be noted that “disappointing” does not mean “bad”. My basis for not liking it is that though it has 10/10 controls, 10/10 graphics, 10/10 music and presentation, the vast majority of the power moons are “walk three steps to the left”. You can hardly roll the controll on the floor without picking up three power moons. Of all the power moons in the game, maybe 5% are interesting or satisfying to acquire. So irrelevant is most of the game’s content that you can literally just pay coins to buy all the power moons you want.

In terms of core design, I would agree that it’s the best 3D Mario. In terms of the actual experience playing it, I just wish there were more “game” and a lot less “virtual tour of the kingdom you’re in”.

      1. Maybe they could bring out some dlc of really hard extra areas to find and say 5 big coins hidden in each kingdom. Possibility

10/10 would buy. Especially if it had its own special physical copy in limited print run like New Super Luigi U.

    2. Let’s be honest why did you post that anyway cronotose it’s like your asking for a fight you literally replying to a guy who thinks Mario odyssey is a great game that most switch owners should have, don’t try to defend your self that’s like trying to go on video about iPhones and literally typing that it’s a horrible phone and Samsung is a better phone expect to get comments defending the iPhone you could of just ignore the comment and went on about but you ended up targeting something that had nothing to do with you at all, or was even your business
