Ken Watanabe Has Joined The Cast Of The Detective Pikachu Movie

It has been a month since we heard anything about the Detective Pikachu movie. As it turns out, progress has been made behind the scenes and another person has joined the cast. Ken Watanabe will play the role of Detective Yoshida. The film is due to start shooting in London this month. We also learned more about the script writers and producers. According to the Hollywood Reporter,  “Nicole Perlman and Alex Hirsch wrote the script with Eric Pearson and Tom McCarthy having completed production polishes. Mary Parent and Cale Boyter are producing for Legendary. Joe Caracciolo Jr. and Pokemon’s Tsunekazu Ishihara are executive producing. Legendary’s Alexandra Mendes will co-produce”.

  1. If they do not manage to get Hiroyuki Sanada to also be in this movie, I’ll be very disappointed. :/ I don’t think Ken & Hiroyuki have been in a movie together yet. Least not a movie made by Hollywood, anyway.
