Sonic Mastermind Yuji Naka Has Joined Square Enix

The mastermind behind Sonic the Hedgehog, Yuji Naka, has revealed on Twitter that he joined Square Enix in January.  It’s not apparent what his role is with the company, or what he is working on, but it will be interesting to find out.

  1. So much for Rodea and Ivy the Kiwi (the only two IPs he put out at Prope).

    But seriously, what the hell is going on with Sonic. We need Team Headcannon!Adventure more than ever.

    I do not trust Iizuka (and his obsession with 2D, Boost-to-win, and P&G) to deliver.

          1. Unless you played the Wii version.

            And don’t condemn an entire franchise because of the mechanics of one title.

  2. Its too sad because if he had continue making Sonic Adventure sequels with a good overworld like Adventure 1 and some elements from Adventure 2, It will sold well.

    I’m also curious. Is this good or bad? According to Wikipedia, this isn’t necessarily bad since he hasn’t really been a lead in Sonic games since Sonic & Knuckles. The franchise being mostly trash these days isn’t even his fault in spite of being producer on some games up til 2006 with Sonic Riders.
