*spits up tea* Holy fucking hell! Over 1.2m sales for Monster Hunter World in Japan in it’s first week! *falls over*

      1. Try again. Three days and only one platform. It’s PS4 exclusive in Japan right now and came out on Friday. It literally shows the date and platform where the 1.2 million was sold. *smh*

    1. Actually it proves the opposite. Not only XX did sell more (thanks to the region lock free ecosystem of Switch) but the fact that Capcom relied on THREE PLATFORMS to sell one game which barely caps MH4’s rate that sold more one just one portable device is fucking sad.

      1. MHW released on PS4 only in Japan, XB1 and PS4 worldwide. PC version does not release until the fall. 3 days of sales 1.3 mil sold in Japan without counting digital. Globally 5 mil shipped with anecdotal reports those should sell through for a restock, I’d say that’s pretty good considering no previous entry has managed to ship those numbers LTD.

With all that said I agree Capcom is leaving money on the table, if a near term Switch MonHun isn’t announced then at least localize XX, those sales could continue to help improve Capcom’s financial earnings

        1. Wow. Irregular multiplatform release and still took this long to sell a million for all 3 systems? lol I’m dying over here because Capcom’s everlasting stupidity is still jarring.

      2. It sold 1.2 million units in 3 days. On one single platform. Just in Japan. Without digital copies being considered.
In which universe is that “sad”?
Pathetically grasping at straws to make yourself believe MHW is not a massive success, when in reality, it absolutely is.

        1. Boring. Mario Kart 8 on that joke called Pii U sold that many in under 24 hours. 60-70 million PS4s and that’s the best it can do? Why you think Capcom put it on the other 2 platforms if they honestly believe MHW would do sell solely on Sony? Never forget the reason why they departed MH series from them a decade ago.

  2. I’ll definitely buy MHW on PC when it releases. Hopefully a good Switch one will come out within the next few years. And don’t even mention XX. Its so not the same thing. I’ve been told several times to get that. I have generations on 3DS. Plus I don’t want to play it in Japanese. (Or even if it gets localized.)

  3. Hard to believe consoles sell so well when a new game releases (when there’s already a BUNCH of great games on PS4). I’ve NEVER bought a new console at the moment a new game released. However, Assassin’s Creed Unity and Syndicate did push me into buying the PS4. So I suppose a part of me can understand.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue from last gen systems is getting a PS4 port soon. With that added, there are just two mainline AC games missing from the PS4: the original Assassin’s Creed & Assassin’s Creed III. Well technically 3 if you count Liberation on the PS Vita.
