North American gaming publication Game Informer recently had the opportunity to catch up with Super Mario Odyssey producer Yoshiaki Koizumi. One thing that was mentioned in the interview is that Koizumi is open to downloadable content for the charming 3D platformer. If the team thinks of anything super impressive that they think could be added to the game then they would consider adding it in as DLC.
“There’s a lot of volume [in Super Mario Odyssey]. That was a big focus in development. Give the player tons to do. We pushed ourselves to create as much as we could. I can’t announce anything specifically today, but of course, if there was a really cool idea for us to do, then we would certainly be thinking about DLC.”
Why wouldn’t they do DLC at some point, more $, so of course..

They should make Peach and Tiara playable so they could get their revenge on Bowser.
And maybe Super Peach Odyssey. It’s the same as Super Mario Odyssey, but Peach saves Mario from Bowser’s Wedding Hat and gets her revenge on Bowser and escapes him.

I do agree with The Commander’s choice of response, but I personally would like to see Tall, Tall Mountain from Super Mario 64 or FreezeFlame Galaxy from Mario Galaxy.
However if I could get anything I wanted to, it would be to see the first Bowser fight from Mario 64 (although preferably harder).
But my wish stems more so from the need of the music and atmosphere from this fight to see the day of light in remade form, than the possability of it happening…
Odyssey’s gameplay mechanics do not lend themselves well for such a fight perhaps.
Although I could see a few changes that would make it possible…
I wanna see Luigi playable, online co-op..REAL CO-OP this time with the brothers, not some handiCAP that I can already do myself in single. Plus, make Yoshi playable in ALL kingdoms as well as ridable instead of “possessing” him, bring in some more costumes with special effects, run button, few more kingdoms (Giant, Haunted with Boos and returning Bob-Omb Battlefield) and even more enemies.

Yes. Only in a few places and Mushroom Kingdom as his sole level.
There are many problems with this response. They would definitely NOT put Luigi as co-op because Cappy is already playable. They wouldn’t take the time to go and add a whole new character in a game that’s already finished. They wouldn’t add Yoshi in all the kingdoms because it would just be pointless. There wouldn’t be anything for him to do. Why would he be ride-able? That would defeat the purpose of capturing him. Costumes with special effects wouldn’t serve any purpose to an already beautiful looking game. And the worst one of them all, the run button. There wasn’t one in 64 or Sunshine. Why would they put it here? There are already like 5 other ways to travel faster in the game. Just at least think of your options before blurting them out all at once.
Bob-Omb Battlefield (Blast Kingdom), Isle Delfino (Vacation Kingdom), and then something for Galaxy as the Cosmic Kingdom. If they really want they could also throw in Hyrule Kingdom.

There’s been a ton of crossover DLC in video games before. It’s not unheard of.
Open to DLC? They are already releasing DLC for the game though…
I guess Nintendo, like a few of their fans that hated the idea of DLC for Nintendo games, don’t know there is such a thing as FREE DLC.
From Super Mario 64 I would like as DLC: Wet-Dry World (the one where you can change the water level), Shifting Sand Land, Bob-Omb Battlefield, Tick Tock Clock, Tall Tall Mountain and Rainbow Ride.
From Mario Sunshine I would like: Ricco Harbor, Gelato Beach, the windmill level (I don’t remember its true name right now), Noki Bay and Pianta Village.
The entire Mario 64 game playable within peach’s castle with Cappy functionality of course. Would pay another $60 for that.
Jolly Roger Lagoon from Mario 64 with a remix of its music would be kick. Ass. I would also love to see Lethal Lava Land, Hazy Maze Cave, Big Boo’s Haunt, and Tick Tock Clock return in updated HD.
Hell, ANY new kingdoms would be nice, I feel like there should have been more than there is in the base game since they showed off all but like 2 of them in previews leaving little to be unseen until playing.

Also they should just have a remastered collection of both galaxy, sunshine and 64. Even make a new story mode that connects them. Galaxy 🌌 1, sunshine, 64, galaxy 🌌 2.
Also what if they did the balloon thing. But within remade versions of the painting worlds in 64.
He should be saying they are open to paid DLC since they are already doing free DLC for the game already.
