Square Enix have been fairly strong supporters of the Nintendo Switch thus far and they are looking to reinforce that support by bringing more high quality titles to the system. Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda recently spoke to UK publication EDGE and said he was pleased with how the various games they’ve produced have fared on Switch and says more people within the company are looking to create Switch titles.
“They haven’t done badly!” Square Enix president and CEO Yosuke Matsuda explained to EDGE when asked about how the company’s games have fared on Nintendo Switch.
“Obviously it only came out last March, so it hasn’t been long, but of all the publishers who are working on Switch we’ve done quite a few things. It’s a very attractive platform – there are a lot of people within the company that are looking to make games for Switch.”
Good. Bring as many games as possible. I will play just about anything from Square.
Really? I havent noticed anything.
In the first year we got three games from Square Enix. I Am Setsuna, Lost Sphere, and Dragon Quest Builders. That’s a good start IMO.
How many Square games were in year one of the PS4/Xbox One?
Ok let’s see who will bring games to the Switch
They’ve been saying that for years and the only games that’s coming from them is Project Octopath. The other games are just ports and multiplatform. I’ll believe when I see.
Does everything need to be exclusive to the Switch for you to buy it?!?! O.o
When a new console comes out mid to late gen you’re going to see ports of older games in the early days as these are the games that require the shortest time period to develop. Exclusives and day and date port will take time but I think we will see it.
I’ve heard Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition might be ported over to the Switch?
Cool c:
Bring both Tom Raider (2013) and Rise of the Tom Raider and I will be happy.
Tom?
*Tomb Raider (sorry, had to make that correction)
Final Fantasy 7&15 and Kingdom Hearts 3?
We only need KH3
Fine
Please make a third sequel of Bravely Default. Those games are so good.
I know it’ll never happen, but I sometimes still dream that they can team up with Monolith Soft and remake Xenogears. I’d be so happy to experience that game in an updated format with all the good things I’ve heard about it.
Give us KH3 and money will flow.
Square Enix is an excellent arms manufacturer to have on board.
I already got them on PS4 so I won’t buy them BUT they really should get Life is Strange and it’s prequel, Before the Storm, on Switch. No telling how many Switch owners haven’t experienced it yet.
