Ubisoft Is The Top Third-Party Publisher On Nintendo Switch

Ubisoft has confirmed today during their financial report that they are the number one third party publisher on the popular Nintendo Switch. The company has released a number of games on the platform including the well-received Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. That particular game was the Nintendo Switch’s top third-party game in 2017.

  1. I can only agree with that if they put all of their games on the Switch. *cough* Assassin’s Creed *cough*

  2. And yet, I only see 3 games. One nobody asked for, one being ported from the fucking Wii…in 2017 and the other is a last gen port reminding us why we hate them.

  3. Makes sense considering that they’ve put more games on there than any other 3rd Party developer (At least I think, someone check the number of Square Enix games).
That said, the only games they’ve put on the switch that I would actually recommend is Mario+Rabbids, and Rayman Legends if you’ve never played it.

    1. Infinite Kalas X3, The Sonyendo King

About 7 or 8 games. Of course someone is going to diss most of them for one reason or another.

      1. To be fair, those more bland forgettable rpgs (I Am Setsuna & Lost Sphear for example) they’ve been putting out aren’t doing them any favors. Project Octopath is looking really promising though, so I’m hoping this is just their water testing phase, like what Capcom’s been doing.

    2. Infinite Kalas X3, The Sonyendo King

As for how many of those are already on Switch, I think maybe 3 of them while the rest are planned.

  4. I’m happy for Ubi on this because they stuck by the Wii u get longer than any other third party did. Glad Nintendo let them do Mario rabbids.

  5. Hell no. Between Just Shit 20xx (expected), Rayman Legends Not-Definitive Edition (port of a last gen game), and Mario + Shittids (no one asked for this), besides delaying Steep and not putting Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and games that really matter, Ubisoft will never be the top third for Switch.

Bethesda and Square-Enix deserves the title more.

    1. I hope people never stop making games that I haven’t thought to ask for, even if I don’t like all of them.

Kudos to Square for joining the few that are releasing console exclusives for Nintendo and Bethesda for actually putting effort into their ports, but Ubisoft absolutely deserves praise for making a console exclusive released in the first year that generated more sales than Skyrim, Doom, Minecraft etc, while also getting solid critic AND user reviews.

While they deserve a little credit for it, let’s be real. If not for the Super Mario tie-in, it wouldn’t be the big deal it is since Rabbids are an acquired taste as a good majority hate them. Rabbids are practically the epitome of a niche market.

  6. Will I guess so, with “Let’s dance 92” just to name a few. Still wish they made a Rayman Legends 2 but I guess we have to wait on the Switch Pokemon Pikachu. Excuse me while I grab a tissue and sneeze and say “achoo.”

  7. Isn’t Ubisoft ALWAYS the top third party publisher on Nintendo platforms? Yet, they keep avoiding bringing their biggest games, like Assassin’s Creed. The Wii U versions of Assassin’s Creed III and IV: Black Flag were my first games in the series, and the ones that made me fall in love with the series. Hard to believe they were on the Wii U. The most rejected console of all time.

Meh… I hate Ubisoft as a Nintendo developer but I can’t get enough of their Assassin’s Creed games on PS4. With Rogue being ported to PS4 and XB1 soon, I just need the original Assassin’s Creed, 3, and Liberation to complete my collection of the mainline games on the system. So close yet still so far.
