Here Are The Full Patch Notes For The Recent Major DOOM Update

DOOM for Nintendo Switch recently received a rather hefty patch. The update added motion control functionality and players also received a new shiny, all-important game icon for their Switch home screen which now matches the box art. In addition, Bethesda also kindly squeezed in some performance enhancements for the hellish first-person shooter to help the title run a little better. Here are the full patch notes:

New Features!

  • Motion Aiming – New control scheme option allows you to tilt the Nintendo Switch for more precise aiming
  • Multiplayer Parties – Added new party system, making it easier to group up and play with your friends in multiplayer
  • Updated Game Icon – Game icon now matches the DOOM for Nintendo Switch box art

Improvements

  • Increased the average resolution in lower-res areas of the game
  • Implemented CPU optimizations
  • Added Traditional Chinese language support

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that resulted in a possible crash when using the BFG
  • Fixed an issue that caused audio issues while playing
  • Fixed an issue that caused stretched textures to appear in multiplayer
  • Fixed an issue where controls became unresponsive on the game menu
  • Fixed an issue where players may have incorrectly received a ban notice in multiplayer

    1. Yeah that would’ve been great. Hate that everything is online multiplayer these days, you can’t beat multiplayer with your friends in the same room

    1. Since all the gyro control is in the Joy-Con I’m pretty sure you don’t need to have them connected. It just was better to show it that way in the video.

      1. WRONG THE SWITCH HAS GYRO ALSO IN THE CENTRE BODY

        gyro is in both joycons the centre unit and the pro pad the gyro has to be in te main body for when and if the joycons are not fitted LIKE HOW A PHONE AND A TABLET HAS MOTION BUILTIN

        switch has more gyro and tilt chips in it than anything else onthe market

  1. can I fully invert the controls yet?
    so crazy we couldn’t do this from the start, can invert 1 of 2 axis in a FPS.
    meanwhile random 3rd person platforming/adventure games let me fully customize my camera controls.
    this has actually kept me from playing the game much at all.
