Starbreeze Talks About The Nintendo Switch Version of Payday 2

You may remember that yesterday a post spread around Reddit stating that the Nintendo Switch version of Payday 2 is missing a number of features. Polygon caught up with the developer Starbreeze to find out what content Nintendo Switch owners will get. It seems as though the Reddit user was correct and the build of Payday 2 on Nintendo Switch is based on an older version of the game. Here’s what they had to say:

“Payday 2 is releasing on Switch with content up to and including the ‘Most Wanted’ update, which is equivalent to the content released through mid-2017 on PC. PS4 and Xbox One received one additional update after that, the ‘Master Plan’ update, which released near the end of 2017,” Starbreeze told Polygon. “So Switch is one update behind other consoles, which are slightly behind PC.”

“The reasoning for the Switch content: we’re making continuous updates to a game that’s turning 5 years old this year, and to get the game out in early 2018 on Switch meant that our team had to go with the content ported and available at the time of console submission,” Starbreeze explained to Polygon. “The PS4 and Xbox One versions are now almost up to par with PC content, and Switch is close behind those versions. There are future content updates planned for Switch, as well.”

      1. Funny. I have Payday 2 on my account and never dropped a dime nor it’s a demo. I’m dead serious. If you want, I can snapshot my library and even their last giveaway post in the Steam page.

  1. Yea this was obvious. At least they stated they will keep on updating. Personally, I’m not interested in the game but it will be interesting to see how it sells. I don’t think it will sell too well but I hope I’m proven wrong lol
