SEGA Showcases Gameplay And Dub For Shining Resonance Refrain

SEGA revealed earlier this week that it is bringing Shining Resonance Refrain to the Nintendo Switch this summer. SEGA recently held a livestream for the game and showcased the games dub language which can be swapped on the fly. SEGA also announced that the Nintendo Switch version of the game will be 1080p and that nothing in the game is censored. Have a watch of some English gameplay in the video, below.

While the Nintendo Switch version will be 1080p, the version for that system is still undergoing framerate optimization at the moment.

  1. Infinite Kalas X3, The Sonyendo King

I think Sega is spying on us. They probably saw my comment some time ago about how they are crappy and that any good games they do still make aren’t even localized outside of Japan. lol

  2. Shining Force was my very first introduction to RPG’s way back on SEGA Smash Pack 2, so I’m looking forward to this. I just wish they made a new one that feels more like its own version of Fire Emblem like how they used to.

    1. I would really prefer that actually. The turn based strategy genre doesn’t have many competitors in the ring, but wow, are there just THOUSANDS of action jrpgs with this samey looking art style.

      1. I have the same thoughts with the artstyle as well. I’m not sure if it’s nostalgia but I thought the characters in the Shining series stood out way more than they do now. I noticed this ever since Shining Force Feather.

        1. Was honestly pretty disappointed when I watched a gameplay video of this game (don’t know if it’s the same as this one). The localization devs playing it were just openly admitting that the game ticks all the boxes in the RPG department and the anime department. Which really sucks, because Shining Force used to be a different spin on Fire Emblem with arguably more creative character designs… Oh well.

  3. Definitely not for me, this looks like a game aimed at females. Also production value seems low. That’s not the kind of game I expect from SEGA.
